Babymoon day 7 & 8

February 23, 2021

We had a really windy day on our seventh day on the island. Since the bungalow entrance had a ramp at a slight angle it was a bit tough to take Thor out when it was so wet and windy. We spent most of the day inside. J had to work all morning so I spent my time just relaxing doing my own things. Earlier in the morning I did a 25 minute yoga asana practice followed by 20 minutes of pilates.
In the afternoon it had stopped raining and wasn’t as windy as the morning, so we drove up north on the island to a dog park. This park turned out to be quiet big. They had a separate area for small dogs but we opened for Thor to be in the big area. There was only one friendly dog there then. Thor had little interest in this dog and just ran around sniffing everything. With all the beautiful trees surrounding this park it made it very peaceful (even if it was right next to traffic), I would love to take T to a park like this every day:) We didn’t stay too long, T tends to get bored easily and walks up to the gate after a little while. So we went for a little walk through a park and ended up on the beach. Quite cold and windy but it was nice. Nobody there really.
We got take-out on our way home and then just spent time relaxing on the couch all night.

Jim found this disgusting looking thing (the orange ones and the white mushroom balls) outside our bungalow. We found out it is called  clathrus columnatus, it’s a fungus, look it up

In the morning of our eight day I went for a walk by myself to get us coffee at the cafe nearby. And then I spent time by myself again reading a baby book while J was working even though he was only supposed to work for two days during our trip. Eventually I got bored and tired of him sitting by the computer all day, so I went for a long walk by myself. I decided to walk over to the horses, took about 45 minutes. There was no horses in that patio though when I got here. I texted J that he and buttface could come meet me there which they did. Together we drove to the beach for a walk in the sun. We walked pretty far and we ended up at the end of the island. The beach is 12 miles long and we explored different parts of it every time we went.
For dinner we had calzones from the pizza place that we liked and then we sat outside in the cold to watch an absolutely gorgeous sunset.

This is how cute all the streets on this island was

We saw lots and lots of dead stingrays washed up on the beach

Babymoon day 5 & 6

February 17, 2021

I don’t know why I started to post our babymoon in day form, hahah, what was I thinking? Some days we didn’t do that much and it will turn into a lot of posts, but oh well 🙂

On the fifth day we went to a park that I had read you can see lots of alligators and it looked quiet huge on the map but when we got there it was not that interesting and no alligators. We drove back to the house and facetimed with my sister and her family. They had just had a birthday party for my niece who turned 1 the week before and William (my sisters boyfriends oldest) that turned 14 that day. We went to the beach in the afternoon but it was so cold and windy so we didn’t stay long. Got some awesome take-out on our way home and that’s it for that day:)

it was tough for Thor to walk in that strong wind

Our sixth day was really awesome and we did a lot of stuff. It was finally a tiny bit warmer and sunny outside so I grabbed the maternity photoshoot dress and we went to the beach for a second try to get some nice pictures. It was super duper windy on the beach though and my hair was just everywhere. But we got some nice picture that I can perhaps frame.
Jim dropped us off at the house and went to pick up breakfast at this golf restaurant, some really awesome fluffy pancakes and yummy bacon. We got this again on one of the last days and that’s when J told me it cost $40 which is insane. But it was yummy. And we could sit outside in the sun. You have no idea how happy this made me!
The weather started to shift so we decided to drive to what became our favorite park, Sea Pines, before too late. We explored some new areas (this park is huge). On our way home we stopped by the horse farm. That’s when we saw those four alligators in the pond. We said hi to some horses (Thor was not a fan) but didn’t stay too long cause it started to rain. In the evening, J cooked us some porkchops for dinner and then we just hung out. We saw some dolphins swimming by our bungalow.

Sneak peak from the “maternity shoot” I can honestly say that this was one of the best moments of our babymoon Alligators!
Do you remember that I used to dance with horses 😀

our 4th day of babymoon

February 10, 2021

On our forth day on the island we had an absolutely gorgeous morning sunrise. I took T out and then he went back to sleep with J while I did my morning practice alongside this magical sky. I did about an hour long yoga practice which felt amazing for my body. Once the boys were up, I took a quick shower and then went for a walk to get us coffee. J was working all morning and had some work phone call at 10:30 am so I sat by my computer for a bit.
We actually didn’t do much else this day. We went for a walk in the afternoon, it was cold in the shade but lovely in the sun. Once we were back at the house we sat outside for a bit, then J went to grill us some pork for dinner and I tried one of those instant rice pouches that you put in the microwave. Super easy and surprisingly really yummy (I always make rice in a pot and kinda fail at making it every time haha). In the evening we enjoyed the view of a gorgeous sunset, I had mocktails and ice cream, we watched my belly for baby kicks and just hung out. Pretty simple Friday:)

These trees  Gloves and palm trees, ya, there’s a first for everything:)

Sea Pines Park on the third day

February 8, 2021

Our third day on the island started with me trying to take Thor out in the morning. He does not want me to take him, he just sits there in protest and wants to go back to daddy. So after a quick potty I left him with J inside and brought my camera out to look at the full moon over the water. So peaceful and only a few birds making sounds. Then I went inside to do some yoga before the boys got out of bed. J sat by his computer for awhile (like every morning) so I drank my decaf coffee and read in a baby book.

Around 11:30 am we drove to Sea Pines Preserve not far from us. This park turned out be incredibly beautiful on some of the paths. It was a huge park and we had many options of trails to follow. We kept looking for alligators cause we had read that there could be plenty but we didn’t see any. After 1.5 hour or so we were hungry so we went back to the car and drove to get food at One Hot Mamas. They had outdoor seating and luckily a table away from the other tables so we sat down to enjoy some briskets and pulled pork.

We went back to the house for awhile. The sun was shining so nicely into the living room so I decided to sit down to meditate while the boys took a nap. Since it was such a lovely day we went for a longer walk in the afternoon. We bough lattes and just walked along all the tennis courts and golf courses (outside of beautiful nature, that’s all you can find on this island).
We came back right before sunset which was absolutely gorgeous. We stood out there and just watched the sun go down. This day was perfect from the start til the end.

Quarantine day 1

February 9, 2021

I could easily enjoy more days like this💗

When I packed for our babymoon I kept checking the weather apps. It said it was going to be colder some days but still quite nice temperatures. We had two-three nice warmer days that we enjoyed the heck out of😎 And then it was cold. But it wasn’t just cold, the wind was brutally cold and I had not packed for that🙈
Our trip was wonderful either way and we would have extended our trip if it wasn’t for that I have to quarantine before my next doctors appointment.
We stayed at this cute bungalow house with a gorgeous view of the water in a neighborhood surrounded by palm trees🌴 I could not have asked for anything more. It wasn’t the babymoon trip we had in mind (thank you virus) but hubby and I had the absolute best vacation together before baby💕💕
