10 weeks (-ish) to go ♥

I feel amazing! I know this can turn quickly so I am grateful for every minute that my body feels good. Baby apps and articles says all these negative things every week and I can’t relate to most of it. For example, I don’t feel exhausted and my hands and feet haven’t been swollen for weeks – the only thing I can relate to is that I have to pee fifty times a day, but not at night. Ya these symptoms happens to a lot of women and I appreciate the apps telling me about them but it just sounds so negative and not fun at all to be pregnant. I’m trying to enjoy this time.

I feel quite calm as well, I thought for sure I would start to stress out about all the things that needs to be taken care of but I’m a lot calmer than expected. Yes, I’m desperate to know if we are moving or not once the baby comes cause then I could start packing now and start selling all our furniture which will be tough once baby is here, but we don’t know at the moment so there’s no reason for me to feel stressed about it now:)

I am a bit in nesting mode though I think haha. Slowly putting things in different piles in our storage room; one donation pile, one trash pile (old clothes with holes and such) and one “give-back-to-my-friend” pile (she came over with a huge box of maternity clothes that I’m not wearing, and one big bag of baby clothes that I don’t think I need or want). So my yoga/dance/pilates room is now an actual storage room. I want to have the bedroom cleaned out for all Lilliputs stuff so, the “Fanny Room” has to be sacrificed. I did a huge organization last weekend. For example, clothes we aren’t currently wearing and wont be wearing in the nearest future had to jump into suitcases we have in the storage. Our walk-in-closet looks like we have been robbed haha. I also emptied out one drawer in a dresser so we can fit diapers and stuff. It’s short term solutions that works in case we are moving, but if we are staying then I have to take some time in a few months to come up with a long term idea for our home.

I do feel like we should maybe read and prepare ourselves for when the baby is coming. I don’t know anything about newborns haha. I have been reading and researching a little over the past months but not as much as I probably should, and Jimmy started reading on Sunday. I do feel quite calm, confident and excited about the birth though. A lot of women are terrified, I have even had women reaching out with these book tips on how to not be afraid to give birth, and I don’t feel that I need them. The body knows what to do. I am however afraid to get a c-section (not of the actual surgery or recovery, I simply don’t want one because I want to experience the real deal). Here in America they give those to women regardless of if it’s necessary or not it seems like which is stupid. Giving birth during covid might change things as well. We aren’t allowed to go on a tour at the hospital so I have no idea of what they have and not. But, as long as my hubby is by my side and everyone around me stays calm, it will be fine.

10 weeks left, let the countdown begin.

Babymoon day 5 & 6

February 17, 2021

I don’t know why I started to post our babymoon in day form, hahah, what was I thinking? Some days we didn’t do that much and it will turn into a lot of posts, but oh well 🙂

On the fifth day we went to a park that I had read you can see lots of alligators and it looked quiet huge on the map but when we got there it was not that interesting and no alligators. We drove back to the house and facetimed with my sister and her family. They had just had a birthday party for my niece who turned 1 the week before and William (my sisters boyfriends oldest) that turned 14 that day. We went to the beach in the afternoon but it was so cold and windy so we didn’t stay long. Got some awesome take-out on our way home and that’s it for that day:)

it was tough for Thor to walk in that strong wind

Our sixth day was really awesome and we did a lot of stuff. It was finally a tiny bit warmer and sunny outside so I grabbed the maternity photoshoot dress and we went to the beach for a second try to get some nice pictures. It was super duper windy on the beach though and my hair was just everywhere. But we got some nice picture that I can perhaps frame.
Jim dropped us off at the house and went to pick up breakfast at this golf restaurant, some really awesome fluffy pancakes and yummy bacon. We got this again on one of the last days and that’s when J told me it cost $40 which is insane. But it was yummy. And we could sit outside in the sun. You have no idea how happy this made me!
The weather started to shift so we decided to drive to what became our favorite park, Sea Pines, before too late. We explored some new areas (this park is huge). On our way home we stopped by the horse farm. That’s when we saw those four alligators in the pond. We said hi to some horses (Thor was not a fan) but didn’t stay too long cause it started to rain. In the evening, J cooked us some porkchops for dinner and then we just hung out. We saw some dolphins swimming by our bungalow.

Sneak peak from the “maternity shoot” I can honestly say that this was one of the best moments of our babymoon Alligators!
Do you remember that I used to dance with horses 😀

My pregnant body feels overall pretty great to be honest, but since our long car ride home from South Carolina last weekend my upper back has been a little angry with me. And sleeping on my sides is not helping the case, my upper back and neck muscles are quite uncomfortable.
So for the past week I’ve used my enormous pregnancy pillow to prop myself up to be able to sleep on my back on an incline which definitely helps (teaching my body to sleep on the side has been hard during this pregnancy🙈 I’m a back sleeper for sure).
And this supported fish pose (matsyasana) is amazing for overall feel-good relief (I usually open my knees out for a nice hip opener as well).
Matsyasana is know from the traditional texts to be “the destroyer of all diseases”. I really like the supported version regardless if I’m pregnant or not (one block under the ribcage -where the bra strap is- and one block to support the head, blocks on whatever height that is comfortable for you that day and you can add rolled up blankets -like I have in the picture- or use a bolster). It stretches the hip flexors (when legs are straight forward or knees out to the sides), belly and throat and it can feel nice for and strengthen the upper back and can improve posture.

less hours of sleep

Photo by me, a tripod and my canon on a self timer

Good Morning! I got up at 6:30am today when J and T came back to bed after their morning walk. I’m not really sleeping these days. It’s not necessarily because I’m pregnant actually cause I’ve had this problem for years. From time to time I go into a period of waking up in the middle of the night and I can’t fall back to sleep for a few hours and then around 6am or so I finally fall asleep only to get up an hour later. Annoying.
Throughout my pregnancy I have been sleeping pretty well actually believe it or not, but now for a couple of weeks I just wake up around 2-3 am and can’t fall back to sleep. Somehow I’m not that tired during the day either which is odd. This week I have however more or less forced myself to take a nap in the afternoon because I know that my pregnant body definitely needs it, especially now as I get closer and closer to due date. But last night I had my headphones by the bed again (haven’t had them by my side since before babymoon) so when I woke up at 2:15 am I could grab them and listen to sleep meditations. Took me about an hour and then I actually fell asleep! And I didn’t wake up until 5:30. Woohoo! I tried to fall back to sleep but when the boys came back in I just decided to get up because I was hungry:)

Yup, that was my very interesting sleep story to start off this Friday hahah.

We have a three-day-weekend coming up which includes Valentine’s Day. What special things are we gonna do? Nothing haha. I don’t really care about V-day, it’s just a day for Hallmark to sell cards and flower shops to earn a bit of extra cash. I rather just tell my husband every day that I love him. And on Monday, the only difference is that J will not sit by his computer to work, he will most likely just sit there to read sports news and play games, so it won’t be that much different there either:) I will be a busy bee as all days these day. I feel like my to-do lists (plural) is just getting longer and longer. And I should be starting to slow down and be done with all the to-do’s. Hopefully we can tick off some things together this weekend.

sometimes you just have to take your own maternity photos 🙂
Jim and Thor eventually came outside and snapped this photo

February 10, 2021

On our forth day on the island we had an absolutely gorgeous morning sunrise. I took T out and then he went back to sleep with J while I did my morning practice alongside this magical sky. I did about an hour long yoga practice which felt amazing for my body. Once the boys were up, I took a quick shower and then went for a walk to get us coffee. J was working all morning and had some work phone call at 10:30 am so I sat by my computer for a bit.
We actually didn’t do much else this day. We went for a walk in the afternoon, it was cold in the shade but lovely in the sun. Once we were back at the house we sat outside for a bit, then J went to grill us some pork for dinner and I tried one of those instant rice pouches that you put in the microwave. Super easy and surprisingly really yummy (I always make rice in a pot and kinda fail at making it every time haha). In the evening we enjoyed the view of a gorgeous sunset, I had mocktails and ice cream, we watched my belly for baby kicks and just hung out. Pretty simple Friday:)

These trees  Gloves and palm trees, ya, there’s a first for everything:)
