Workshop flyer

Last night, even if I was extremely tired, I grabbed my yoga mat and walked over to the studio. I haven’t been there in a while actually. Felt good to take a class at night. It was a more gentle class taught by the owner. Exactly what I needed. My balance was really good and I felt stronger in my knees, so all the work I have done at the gym must have paid off:)

After class I saw the workshop flyer on the wall. I knew she had them printed a while ago but I hadn’t seen them yet. It looked nice. Hopefully people will sign up for this workshop. I’m excited to teach and I think this will be a fun class. I’m extremely nervous of course cause I don’t know who could show up and it’s a class for anybody, no previous experience needed, which makes it interesting but also tricky since I don’t know how much material I need to prepare for it in case I need to change throughout the class. And there are many ways I can take this class. I’m trying to not make it into too much dance, it’s just inspired by it, and I want to fit in all the things from the description of course and also make it ok for all body types. It’s a challenge but an exciting one:)

Snooze

I need cooooooffee! Oh my, I’m so tired. I’m trying to think that I’m not, I want a positive day, but everything I do is in slow motion and my eyes are barely open. Jim took the pup out in the middle of the night and I woke up when they came back in. After that, I was awake for 5 hours. Got to sleep for one hour and then it was time to wake up. I don’t function when not sleeping enough #zombie! Eight hours of sleep is my thing and it has been for over a decade, especially since I met Jim. And I actually hate that. Sleeping is so boring, waste of time (and so is taking a shower, that’s the most boring thing there is and when I was the most active I had to shower several times a day. Waste. Of. Time!). I rather stay awake all night long, Im actually very creative then, but I need my sleep. Zombie Fanny isn’t a well functioning Fanny.

Yesterday I joined my hubby at the gym. I had already worked out a bit during the day but I felt that my body needed to move more. Used the weight machines for arms and upper body and did other leg stuff standing or lying down. Finished with things for the abs. My whole body really felt like it had got a good workout and muscles were shaking. Nice! I can feel my muscles getting more sore by the minute now. I love that! The “good hurt” is the best thing in the world:)

My plan was to take a morning yoga class, maybe I should, but I actually have a lot of things to write down that I thought about when I couldn’t fall back to sleep. There are classes tonight, so I can go then.

Todays workout at the gym

Good Evening! My hubby is down in the buildings common area for a fantasy football thing he signed up for, eating veggie pizza and hanging out with neighbors. Since I don’t care about football or even understand the whole fantasy team thing, I am sitting on the couch upstairs in my office sipping tea while Thor is grumpy downstairs.

My motivation to move has been very low lately. But, earlier today, I all of a sudden got a lot of energy and I was excited to get my body moving. I went down to the gym for 1 h 25 minutes. If I hadn’t got so hungry in the end I could have stayed longer. Tried to push myself harder today because I had so much energy. Started off as always with a little bit of warmup and then I was on the cross trainer for 10 minutes going so fast that the machine could barely keep up, haha. Then I did things for my hamstrings and abs before I used the more laid-back-bike. I tried that one the other day and discovered that it doesn’t put as much pressure on my knees since I’m in a different angle than on a normal exercise bikes. After 15 minutes of pretty hard biking, my knees got tired and started aching, but I pushed myself to do 20. Might not seem like a lot, but for my knees it really is. I love to bike and want to use my actual bike more, so I need to build strength. Did some pilates; abs, back, arms and legs. And finished with a shorter stretch before I went home to Thor and stretched there as well.

It’s been a good day today and it’s pretty nice to sit upstairs right now just watching youtube videos by myself. And the pink moon is gorgeous! Can’t complain:)

Oh, and now as I was gonna post this, we suddenly got a massive thunderstorm and it’s super crazy! I haven’t seen this much rain come down out of nowhere here before.

Labor Day weekend, Darien Diner, free stuff & nice weather

Good morning! How was your Labor Day weekend? We had a pretty relaxed one.

Like I mentioned, Jim worked on my blog most of Saturday. He took a break for a few hours and we drove to Walmart in Norwalk and after that we stopped by The Darien Diner. Super cute inside. Old American stuff. The food was great too! I can really recommend this place.

On Sunday, we had an early dinner at a pizza bar and then went to Bed Bath & Beyond. We were looking for a small pitcher to steam milk in on our new espresso machine, but they didn’t really have any. We talked to a sales person in there and she ended up giving me a pitcher from a displayed espresso machine for free. “I won’t get in trouble walking out with this though?” I asked and she answered “No, just hide it. People steal display stuff all the time, and I say it’s ok”. Aum, what? I asked her if she would be in trouble then, but nope, she just told me to pay for the other stuff I had and hide the pitcher when I walked out. Weird, but thank you sales lady:)

Yesterday, Labor Day, we didn’t do much either. It was lovely weather, really warm again, so we enjoyed our day on the terrace. J had a little art project, I was reading and Thor was sleeping in his bed on a chair between us. In the evening, I cooked us a nice salmon and potato dinner and then we watched Shameless and went to bed early. A very “married-couple” kinda weekend, haha.

New domain name

Good Morning! It’s a beautiful day today, even if it’s pouring down right now. But those days can be beautiful too, right?:) It all of a sudden got cold here. I was hoping for a few more weeks of really warm summer, we’ll see, it might change again. But the fall usually isn’t so bad. Hot beverages, blankets and candles, colorful trees, pumpkins and fall decorations. It’s the winter I can’t stand, but we actually have a vacation booked for January, so it shouldn’t be too terrible either:)

I should have warned people that my .se would disappear soon and now it’s .com. I had to find a new domain host for this website and some hosts couldn’t sell me .se. So instead of finding another Swedish host, we created a .com. So, this is my new website www.thisisfanny.com

My dear husband sat with my website the entire day yesterday and a bit of Friday to make the change happen. I owe him a lot for this, I’m very grateful! I am also lucky to be married to someone who knows stuff about computers, cause even if I actually know a lot, I would not have figure out how to change domain and shit.
