I have a strong feeling that 2017 will be awesome. I had a strong feeling just like this for 2013, and that turned out to be the best year yet (I got engaged and married, hard to top that).

I was so pumped for starting a new year that I wanted New Years Eve to go by faster so I could wake up the next day. We were invited to a friends party but they live in midtown west and we decided that taking subway or taxi up there would be a disaster because of Times Square. So instead we went to Delmonico’s down by us for an earlier dinner and for the rest of the evening we hung out at home watching NYEve on TV and we celebrated midnight on our rooftop watching fireworks by Statue of Liberty.

Yesterday morning I woke up being excited…with a sore throat and congested nose. Closer to lunchtime I finally gave in and accepted that I wasn’t feeling well. I watched a Disney movie and fell asleep. Not a very exciting first day of the year and today is even worse. I feel like crap, but it’s ok. Today will be another day of rest and movies for me and hopefully my 2017 can begin for real tomorrow:)

New Years resolutions has never been my thing. For me, it doesn’t matter if it’s a new year, new month, new week or a new day. If we want things to change or get better, then we can’t just sit and wait for the new year to come, we have to just do it. But we like the idea of a new start. Leave the past year behind and get a fresh start. Plenty of people will hang out at the gym, some will stop drinking for a month, others will make promises that they can or can not keep. I think New Years resolutions is a great idea because it gets people moving, I just never really had one.

2017 has some huge changes laid out for me and my husband. It’s terrifying and exciting at the same time. Because of these changes I feel like I have to figure some things out. Like I said, it doesn’t matter if it’s a new year or new week, it just happened to be a new year now. So I do have some wishes and New Years resolutions for this year.
