3 years

Planerna blev snart att jag skulle flytta till Osterrike, start over and see what happens.

Today it’s three years since I woke up in New York after a summer on Swedish ground. I came to NY on December 28, 2010 and was planning to stay for 6 months. I stood on Swedish ground July 6 and didn’t know what would happen. New plans was soon that I would move to Austria, start over and see what happens. But, something told me that I was not done with New York, so in the last minute I decided to go back here and suddenly I had both papers and a ticket ready. Everything went so fast, but I don’t regret it for a second.

Always a dancer

IMG_0281_2

When the little one gets older I will go and take dance classes. Now I really miss it! It has been good for me not to dance that much this year, cause I have realized ho much I love it and how much I miss it. It is important so pause sometimes and think. Dance is something you work with every day and all the time (it’s a lifestyle) and unfortunately it’s not always fun, it’s hard sometimes. I thought I would never get tired of it, but after 1000 boring classes at DNA before I quit, I actually got tired of it.
But now, ballet, modern, yoga, pilates, jazz…oh, I want to take it all! It’s burning in my muscles. And I want to create!

3LD

Men mycket bra over all maste jag saga.
Godnatt!!

After a long walk on Lower Manhattan earlier today, we walked by a place I walk by almost every day, a place that always looks so interesting. The guy outside invited us in to see an installation and told us it was a part of a dance performance in collaboration with the Joyce.
Tonight we first went to Wolfgangs and ate the usual, oysters bacon and asparagus, yummy. Then down to the bar where we had our weddingparty in october last year. Of course, later, we walked down to our neighborhood and tried to get tickets for tonights show at 3LD (Jim was actually more curious than me, haha). I really liked it. It’s just what I love to see on stage. And then I mean the movements. The actual visual effects was more cool during the day without dancers. But really good over all, I have to say. Look up Zoe/Juniper and you’ll get an idea of what we saw tonight.
Now we are tired. Good night!!

Ballet history

IMG_9329_2 IMG_9333_2

Vilket super pris!

643 pages of ballet. I couldn’t resist to buy this book today. It was on sale at Barnes & Noble for $8! What a nice price! I like dance history and this book can hopefully be worth those small dollars (probably wouldn’t have bought it otherwise). It’s most likely not a book I will read page after page, more like look at some chapters now and then.
Yes, today I have my thoughts towards ballet. When I started the University of Dance, I got the question if I wanted to change my major to ballet instead. Nope, I did not. I loved to train ballet, but it was not something I wanted to go all in on. When I later took classes at DNA I didn’t find a good teacher and I have since then not really been taking much ballet. Now I have started to miss it and maybe I will take myself to a studio some day and “ballet my self off” a little:)

Swan

It’s raining. When it’s bad weather in New York, that’s when you should go out. There is noone outside and you don’t have to run into a thousand tourists. Though, you should stay away from Soho and other shopping areas, cause when it’s raining on peoples vacations they of course go for some shopping. Down here in Battery Park it’s completely empty. Me, who has rain boots, is thinking of going outside and enjoy the park.
This morning I have among other things watched Swan Lake on youtube. I have never seen it live and actually not seen the whole thing on video. The only ballet I have seen on stage is La Bayadere at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. I would love so see more ballets. Would be nice to go and see a  ballet at Lincoln Center. Wonder if I can get Jim with me:) Would have been romantic, right, hahha. Watch old love stories and beautiful movements, that doesn’t sound like a date me and Jim would ever go on, but it would be nice:)
