Trying something new on my birthday

Good Morning everyone! Today is MY BIRTHDAY! (yes, even when you have passed 30 you can get really excited about your birthday).

I’m on my way to the train station to take the train into Manhattan (I scheduled this post for you). At 10:30 am I’m signed up on an outdoor Flying Trapeze class!!! Omg, I am so excited and nervous! I wanted to try something new on my birthday. Jim is at work so I knew that I had to pick something for myself, and I have been wanting to do this since I saw the episode of when Carrie in Sex and the City is trying it. I don’t really know anything about this, I haven’t really looked into it, I just signed up and now I’m hoping for a fun experience.

When I turned 30, we hiked up the jungle in DR and went down 12 waterfalls. No big deal really but the last jump was a bit more scarier actually and I was the first one to take that jump. Last year, my husband surprised me with taking me to try Indoor Skydiving which was super fun! This year, I’m trying Flying Trapeze. I wonder what I’m gonna do next year 🙂

35 degrees and boat day

Sweaty days now. 35°c today and pretty humid. It’s good to know someone with a boat then. When you’re face is melting off it’s nice to just jump into the water.
Jim’s boss has a boat and his family is away for a week so he asked us if we wanted to go out with his boat. We drove a bit up with the boat to Connecticut (he lives and has his boat in Larchmont, NY). And then we stopped to swim and relax. Lovely! I would never consider owning a boat of my own, but I do love to go out in the ocean, be surrounded by water. On the way back I sat in the front. So fast and bumpy. I had to really hold on. So much fun!
Anyway. We were out for a few hours and then we had to head back home to Thor. We were so tired after that. The sun really wears you out:) I’m doing laundry now and at the same time doing some stuff on my computer while eating “ballerina” cookies. Jim started to give me Swedish treats on Friday. I have got a kex chocolate, a bag with a licorice mix candy bag and I also accidentally found Kalles Kaviar (caviar) in the fridge on Thursday. Mmm, a real good b-day weekend:)
And tomorrow is my birthday!!

I have nothing other than pictures of Thor to show you (my phone is full, he is too damn cute!),
so here’s my breakfast. Same today as yesterday:)

Hello! Hope you are having a great day! It was raining this morning but now it’s sunny and warm, yay!

Went to the orthodontics this morning. A very different experience. When you come in to the place it looks very new and like a normal dental place. I first had to go in to a room where this young orthodontist guy took a look at my teeth. Then they asked me to go to the main room with several chairs (weird). I sat down, a woman glued my retainer back in place (no paper bib that you always get at a dentist, just the orange glasses, and they did everything standing up next to my chair). When she was done she walked over to the chair next to me that now had a teenage guy in it, and his girlfriend sat on a chair next to my feet. The orthodontist guy came back and fixed the last bit and then I was done.
I have never experienced that you can be in the same room as others in that way before. My last dentist appointment in Sweden had two chairs with all the equipment stuff around it in the same room but they were further apart and you could not really see each other. Here it was just chairs lined up, no equipment like the lamp, suction wires etc. you know, just a small table with a few things on it. Strange isn’t it? And this was an orthodontic that my dentist recommended.
Whatever. I got it done. This is like the 8th time or something I had the same thing fixed. I’ve spent so much money on this crap over the years. And everyone is always surprised about that I had braces in such young age, that they hadn’t removed my wisdom teeth in Sweden and the placement of my retainers is upside down. Wtf? But it is what it is. And apparently I can’t remove it cause then my teeth might move. Oh well..

Today I also book myself something really exciting and nerve-wracking for my birthday on Monday. AAAHH! Our neighbor has agreed to watch Thor, so I will spend the whole day in the NYC I think. I have already paid so I have to go do this now, iiihh it will be fun!:)

What a game!

I usually don’t care about soccer, but the World Cup is always a bit more fun. And today was really fun!

This morning I got up, got ready, felt a bit stressed cause I wanted to go get my test done as soon as possible so that I could be back home with Thor when the inspection happens (they still haven’t been here). I came  there around 7:30am and the place was packed. I had to sign in on a tablet and my name popped up on the TV. 50 min wait, oh my. I had read reviews that they weren’t very helpful or friendly at this place and that you can end up spending hours there. While I waited there was actually a patient who got into a big fight with two behind the desk and I hoped it would be over soon. But it must have just been that womans attitude, cause everyone was sooo nice to me. I got in after about 50, got a needle in my arm and was out the door within two minutes. Bought coffee at the place next door and walked home.

And then soccer came on. At first I just thought I can have it on and go upstairs to do other stuff and just listen to what’s happening, but then I decided to put my Swedish t-shirt on, put Thor in his blue “thor” sweater (I don’t have any yellow or Swedish for him) and then watch the game after all.
The first period was so boring and I barely watched. But then the second half started and oh my, so fun. Thor kept freaking out because I was screaming at the TV, my phone kept getting messages, I got a few spam calls and one call from the dentist and all this made T very nervous I guess. But Sweden scored three goals!! And South Korea scored 2 so Germany was kicked out so Mexico is still in it. These games was so much fun and I kept writing with my dad and sister who were just as pumped up as I was. Hahah.

Now I’m waiting for Brazil at 2pm. I’ve always been a Brazil fan, most likely because of my cousins:) (and for some reason I liked Holland for many years as well, but they are not in it this time), so I’m excited about that game too. Plus my friend is Brazilian and it would be fun if our countries end up in the final:)
