CHRISTINA AGUILERA

We had so much fun last night! I really relived my excitement for this concert from when I was in high school:)

We didn’t come in to Manhattan until about 6:30pm and we needed to go eat before the concert. We picked one of Wolfgangs (a favorite of ours) new locations that was on the way to Radio City Music Hall from Grand Central. At first we just wanted to order some starters but we both realized we were pretty hungry so we went all in on a fancy pants dinner. Might not look like much, but my salmon was like $30 and Jim’s steak was $45. Good thing we were hungry and basically finished our meals, since we couldn’t bring any food with us. Closer to 8, we walked over to Radio City. When we came in, Big Boi had already started. I don’t care much for that kind of music, but some of the old OutKast songs are ok I guess.

5 minutes before the show, everyone in the audience right in front of us started screaming and taking pictures. We had no idea what was going on. I thought for a sec that maybe Christina would start the show in an audience seat cause I saw a blonde woman. But after a minute, everyone were back in their seats ready for the show. I read this morning that it was Bill and Hillary Clinton in company with Huma Abedin

Christina Aguilera was amazing as always! Her voice, o.m.g!! She must have had a cold or tired voice last night, cause towards the end she seemed to have troubles with it.
The show was kinda whatever. The music choices and the order of it was fine, but the choreography looked like it was created an hour before the first show and the dancers were pretty terrible (in my opinion). Overall, it looked kinda crappy to be honest. The outfits wasn’t great either. Christina looks amazing no matter what shape or size she’s in, but those outfits did not make her look good. But who cares, she’s just too damn cute anyway.

Last nights show had a surprise of Lil Kim coming in during Lady Marmalade. When she came in, J and I looked at each other with a ? in our faces. I did not recognize her, she is a very plastic person now. But so much fun! I love when artist bring in their friends to sing like that:)
One song was a duet with The Great Big World’s Ian Axel on piano. So beautiful!
Towards the end, a gay couple was up on stage proposing. Cute.
In the very end there had been a tall woman dancing her ass off on stage. I completely missed this cause I was busy sneaking further to the front, I just thought it was a backup singer, but Jim asked me after who it was. I read that it was Carmen Carrera. No idea what she’s famous for other than being a trans woman. But she looked amazing.

What a great night! I had so much fun! My throat is sore from all the sing along last night (and because I now probably got J’s cold that he was home from work for on Tuesday). I’m so tired today though. We didn’t come home until closer to 1am and we woke up at 7 this morning. I feel kinda hungover even though I didn’t drink, haha.
I only had my phone to take photos with (my canon is too big to be allowed at events like this) and I don’t think many photos looks particularly great, but I will look it over and maybe there are a few more pics to show you from last night.

Have an awesome day!

I’m a teenager again

In about thirty minutes or so, Jim is supposed to come home from work and we will take the train in to Manhattan. We are going to Radio City Music Hall for a Christina Aguilera concert! Yes, you read it right. I am so excited! I was a X-tina fan when I was younger. I didn’t care too much about her music, I just love her voice!

In High School, I think it must have been my first year, so 2003 maybe, I gave my sister a concert ticket to Christina Aguilera in Stockholm. My best friend and Denice’s best friend (who were sisters) loved X-tina as well, so we decided to all go. Non of us had been to Stockholm before (except with parents when we were kids), so it was a big and exciting trip.

My dad had told me before that you might not be allowed to bring a camera in at the event, so I left it in the car (my friends older boyfriend drove us and we stayed in his sisters apartment). Everyone had cameras of course and I was so sad and disappointed. At one point I left the others and somehow ended up by the stage. If I had been taller, I would have been able to touch her (sounds creepy, but she shook hands with the audience and I was too small). I could have gotten the best photos. So sad. Oh well. The memory is still pretty awesome. I remember her dancers being really awesome too.

I’m like a teenager again. Wohoo! I am really excited!!

Ok, gotta run!

International Coffee Day and a sick hubby

Celebrated the International Coffee Day with fun socks and sweater
…until it was too hot and I had to take it off:)

Hello! Hope you had an awesome weekend!

Yesterday was very nice. We walked over to a place nearby to get coffee and then sat in the sun on our terrace. After a few minutes up there it got really hot. Love it!
Around lunch time, Jim and I decided to go check out if there were any nice parks in Rowayton. We’ve been to a restaurant there before but never explored the area. Found a beach, Bayley Beach, that we could hang out for a little bit until we both wanted lunch. We picked a place through google but they didn’t have parking, so we picked a pizza place, Rowayton Pizza, across the street from it. Looked like whatever and we didn’t expect much but at least it was nice to sit outside. But wow, that pizza was great! Good choice!

When we came back home, we grabbed Thor and went for a walk downtown. We wanted to check out the new fountain they put up in Mill River Park, but they had a beer festival going on so we couldn’t get in. We just walked in a different end of the park instead.
Didn’t do much more fun yesterday. Just watched the movie The Murder on the Orient Express and then I went to bed.

Prince Thor was tired and got carried home

Jim went to bed with a runny but stuffed up nose last night and this morning he woke up sick. First thing I did when I got up was to make him tea with honey, lemon and a cinnamon stick. I forced him to drink it up before he could have coffee. And then I cut apple, banana and kiwi in pieces and added blueberries and a few raspberries to a big bowl. I served this with coconut yogurt, pumpkin seeds and chia seeds. I figured at least the kiwi could make J speed up his recovery. In the afternoon, in the halftime of the Bears game J watched, we went for a sunny walk around the block here. Other than that, we haven’t done much. I just hope J feels better and can start the new week being awesome.

Tomorrow is a new month. October, the real fall month. I feel “peppad” for this month (peppad meaning kinda excited, I just didn’t find a good English word for it, haha). We’ll see how it turns out:)
Good night!

Tonight’s blog writing spot. Teddy is here next to me instead of Thor who’s watching TV with Jim:)

Ready for fall

Hello!
It’s Monday, first day of fall was on Saturday, it’s three months til Christmas and full moon is happening tonight.
Renewal.
Kids have started school. Summer is officially over. It’s time to make the best of the last few months before a new year. The fall is here to let us push hard for what we are working on this year or to let us start over if that’s what we are in need of.

For me, the spring of 2018 was mostly about travel. Uhm,..that’s like the only thing I can remember about the spring right now, haha.
In the beginning of the summer I wrote down a summer bucket list for June 1st til September 30. We have done a lot of things on this list. A few weeks of rain every weekend wasn’t too fun since most of the listed things is outdoors, but I’m still very happy about all the boxes we got to cross off from the summer list. Coffee by the ocean, outdoor concert, go hiking, glamping, be on a boat, swim in the ocean, watch the sunrise, play lazer tag, enjoy Manhattan, try flying trapeze, travel, have a great time with sister and her guy to just name a few things. I had really hoped to go to Niagara Falls and stay a night in Canada but Jim hasn’t been too excited about that so eventually I had to cross that off my list. Same with a weekend in Paris. But I’m still hoping to go to a drive-in movie theater. We have one more week of September so fingers crossed the weather is ok next weekend:)
Leaving the summer feeling grateful for all the amazing things we’ve done. Going into fall feeling refreshed, excited and full of hopes.

First thing on my fall list is to get back to work out, dance, do yoga, meditate and a better diet. After two weeks of relaxed sister time, completely in vacation mood along with them, I’m ready to get back to everything..and more! My workouts and my diet hasn’t been on top for a few weeks even before Denice and John came to visit and I really feel it now. Sugar triggers arthritis and staying away from daily movements isn’t exactly the very best thing for my knees. My body is weak and fatigued. It will be tough to get back to it, but I really feel like there is shifts happening with this full moon tonight.
I feel inspired, motivated and hopeful!

They are almost here

My sister and her guy are currently sitting in a taxi on their way here from jfk. Woohoo! It’s quite a lot of traffic it seems like and it has been raining ALL day, so they will get here pretty late. In like 20 minutes, we will order some pizza cause I know they are hungry and so am I. The guest room is ready, they apartment is clean and they are more than welcome to stay here for a week. Just too bad that the weather decided to go from +33°c and sunny to 16 degrees (!!) and rain, possibly even hurricane on the way this week. But we will have an awesome time together.
