We have lived in CT for two years

Oh wow, we have lived in Stamford for two years already! Where did time go? What have we done? What?! Two years?!

If you have read my blog during these years you have probably figured out that I have had a hard time to adjust. Ok, I had a few years before that as well with confusion and struggles, but moving to a place where nothing ever happens hasn’t exactly made it easier. I was open minded about moving, I tried to see possibilities instead of obstacles, but it has been hard.

In the beginning of this year I believed that we finally could move away from here, that this would be the last cold winter and that we could become grownups with a house of our own. Now our dream is postponed by a lot. We are staying here for another year or so (hopefully don’t have to move to a new apartment, but we’ll see closer to summer), we will have another cold winter to suffer through and I want to dance again but there is nothing around here. The ballet school within walking distance moved out of town right after we moved to Stamford, the dance studio with adult classes only has hip hop (which isn’t my thing) and sometimes contemporary and you have to be invited. The athletic club that we are members of that has a dance studio that I like to use just announced that they are closing next month. There is a ballet studio with adult ballet a 20 minutes bike ride away so I should go there now when the weather is better for biking (although this city is a scary bike place, drivers has no respect for anyone plus there’s only one way streets). And then the only option I have is to take the train into Manhattan, but that ain’t cheap; train tickets, dog walker and classes – an expensive trip.

Oh man, I need to stop to be so negative and need to find solutions. I have no choice but to stay here and deal with it so I should make the best of it. Ya, it’s time to make this so far crappy year into awesome and not see the city as an obstacle. Well, today I have to stay at home with Thor cause his un-fun stomach problem is still going on and he tried to throw up last night, so I need to find something awesome to do inside our apartment….

Thor has been in the bathtub 3 times this morning so far. Plus he was out with Jim a few times at night and needed cleaning then too. Oh, pommy mommy life.

Yesterday, Thor an I went for an hour long faster walk (I had to carry him the last 20 minutes home). It was a beautiful day, sunny and a bit warmer, so I decided that we should walk to a park nearby and then take a different way home. A really nice walk. Both T and I need to walk more now after the winter.
At one point an older lady came up to us and wanted to say hi to Thor. Normally T would get really excited to get attention, but when he’s out on a walking mission, he doesn’t care. And every time, he for some reason put his head down to the ground and eats a twig. Yesterday he was on the other side of the lady’s legs so I couldn’t really pull him away from it or try to get it out of his mouth, so he ate this tiny twig piece. And now we have hourly poopy butts plus he tried to throw up earlier. Yay. What a wonderful day.

This is not what I wanted to deal with today, but I have no choice. I’m cleaning our sheets (he was in our bed after J cleaned him at night, so just in case they got dirty I threw them in the washer), I have to clean my clothes and jacket as well cause they got poop on them, I have taken two full showers so far this morning, I’m sure there is poop stains in the kitchen and in the bathroom that I haven’t dealt with yet cause I want to finish drinking my now cold coffee. And I’m sure I have to go out a few more times before the day is over. I have begged J to make an appointment for T to get a haircut so I hope someone can take him this weekend. It’s not fun for Thor and not good for his skin to jump in the bathtub this much. I feel bad for him.

Ok, now I have complained enough. Hopefully I can have a little bit of something more fun happening today. Hopefully this weekend will be nice too. We haven’t really done anything these last few weeks.

He somehow ended up with poop all over his body, super fun to clean

hopefully last blood test

Hahah, do I really need padding and two bandages?

This morning I walked in complete darkness over to the Quest Diagnostics. My appointment was at 6:30 am and I got in 15 minutes late. Surprised how many people were there that early. They couldn’t find my paperwork so I had to just sit there and wait and wait in the blood test chair. And then I was done in two seconds, I bought coffee next door and was still home before J went to work.

Hopefully had the last blood test done this morning. My HCG level was at 68 last week, so it should be negative by now. It’s annoying to go do all these blood tests, but I appreciate that they want to make sure I’m ok. I rather have extra blood taken than find out too late that there’s something wrong, or that there has been growth and I need surgery and then chemo (that’s the worst case scenario of course). Hoping to be be able to leave this failed pregnancy behind now.

a fresh and clean ending of the week

The apartment is organized, sheets and towels are all clean, the kitchen is clean but about to get cooked in and then cleaned again, the bed has part brand new and washed sheets and part cleaned bedding and now I’m just sitting by my computer dealing with a few things. Aahh, I love a fresh ending of a week.
It’s still raining outside. A real Sunday fall day actually. I wish changing the clock for spring came with the actual weather for spring. It looks like it might get warmed later this week tough.

Tonight I’m going to watch Center Stage. I’ve watched it maybe 10 times before, but we have some movie channel for free this weekend or something and on demand has that movie so I have decided that I’m going to watch it tonight. Hoping it will bring inspiration, motivation and some kick-ass feelings for the new week. I have to go do another blood test on Tuesday which sucks, but other than that I want to have a real awesome week. What’s your plans for the week?

March 10, 2019

Hello! Do you feel like you got enough sleep? We went to bed kind late last night even when we knew that we would lose an hour. But we don’t have any plans today plus the weather sucks, so we could get up later and not care about the changed clock. It’s past noon now and I’m still in my pjs:)
This morning, I made coffee and Swedish pancakes. A real housewife does that, right? Delicious. I’ve been reading a little now while finishing my coffee, J is booking our concert tickets for the summer and fall and later…I have no idea what to do other than a bunch of laundry. Maybe go work out, maybe not, we’ll see.

Yesterday was pretty slow as well but much nicer weather. Didn’t even need a scarf:) We walked to Target to return something and buy some other stuff. On our way home we decided to stop for happy hour at what has become our new Saturday spot. We stayed for like an hour. Back home we put a harness on Thor and took him for a walk to the grocery store. At night J grilled some steak and then we watched the first Saw movie. And that’s basically all we did yesterday.

Hope you’re having an awesome weekend!
