8 years ago, Jim and I stood on the roof of our hotel in Vietri Sul Mare, Amalfi Coast, and said “I do, I do“. Those were the most meaningful words I’ve ever said to Jim besides I Love You.

We had a lovely weekend. Temperatures were finally down in the morning (around 6am) so we went for a nice long walk. Other than that we were busy turning our house into a home
There’s no life in Florida without storms. Today we got hit by the tropical storm “Fred“. It was first supposed to come near us this weekend, then they said it wasn’t coming our way at all, then we heard maybe Tuesday and this morning they said it would hit us directly in the afternoon.
Around 3pm, the four of us went to the master bedroom to hang out in our bed during the storm. It’s been raining since sometime in the middle of the night so the backyard already looked like a waterpark (so now we don’t have to build a pool hahah) we were just waiting for the wind to come as well. The wind got stronger and stronger and all the trees were basically standing sideways. Every other minute we lost power in the house but it came back again pretty quickly each time. But, Fred did miss us by just a little thank goodness. So we survived our first tropical storm:)
This was not so bad. A week or so ago we had a really bad thunderstorm with lightnings all around the house and thunders so loud and close that it made windows shake. All the lights in our house was turned off but they were still flickering. The power went out a couple of times as well. A neighbors house got hit by a lightning and some houses lost power completely. It was a little scary to be honest (I am also afraid of fires so I was a bit extra scared).
We haven’t got ourselves prepared for hurricanes, so as soon as possible now we have to get things we need for the house and survival if something would happen. We need a fire extinguisher, shutters for the windows and an evacuation plan to just name a few things. Our house is luckily not in a flood zone so that’s at least something good:)
This is life in Florida. Hurricane season will possibly be a little scary every year but if it’s not hurricanes then it’s earthquakes or tornados or volcanos or snowstorms or this or that, there’s something everywhere you live in the world:)
Lily
100 days old today sitting next to Teddy who is 60 years old
Teddy has been by my side since I was a baby and before that he belonged to my dad. He is too fragile now for Lily to play with once she gets older but I’ll ask him to be there to watch over her
Once the storm was over, Jim and Lily read a book:
Then we went for an evening walk together. The sky was beautiful and temperatures low, it was really nice.

How you all doin? I am feeling much better today but not perfect after a sudden and unknown sickness on Wednesday.
I got really bad stomach ache and kinda crampy lower abdomen on Wednesday afternoon. At first I wondered if it was the beginning of a first period after birth (which seemed unlikely since they say normally it’s after 6 months PP if you’re breastfeeding exclusively). Then it got so painful I couldn’t hold my tears back – and I can tolerate a lot of pain. It was so horrible that I gladly take childbirth again (and I gave birth without any pain meds). Eventually I started to throw up. For three hours. I hadn’t eaten much that day so I really had nothing coming out of me, it was exhausting. Then I felt good enough to feed Lily before her bedtime (J gave her a bottle of formula when I felt the worst). Yesterday I felt ok to eat and I tried to drink lots of water, but my tummy felt like it had been run over by a monster truck and I was really tired. Today is way better, I took L for a walk this morning and I am even drinking coffee. But I still feel kinda blah and need to take it easy for a few days. The storm Fred is apparently hitting us this weekend so we don’t have any plans to go anywhere anyway.
I really don’t know what this was. Why was I throwing up for only 3 hours? Why throwing up at all? Could it have been a “mild” food poisoning from the rice and veggie bowl I ate from Taco Bell the night before? Thought for a sec that it could be a stomach bug that I somehow got from our shopping at Target the day before (but that seems unlikely since I wash my hands a million times a day and practice good hygiene). What I really think it is… my body is giving me sings that it’s time to take care of myself. My body has been angry with me for quite some time now and I need to start to listen.

Lily is 3 months and one day old today. It has now also been a whole year since our journey together began
Sorry if my website didn’t work for a few days. Jimmy was working on it last week and I haven’t had time to log in to find out that it didn’t work. But it should be fixed now.
Three months with our Lilliput ♥ It really seems like she arrived in this world just last week. But then when I think about all the stuff she has already learned then I feel like she’s been here for years already. Sometimes I forget that she is a brand new baby, just like I still forget that Thor is a dog and not a human hahah. She seems so wise somehow. When she “talks” to me I feel like she is telling me about the discoveries she has done and I happen to not speak her language so I can’t understand her. She did however say the word “okey” last week haha, and it was an answer to what Jim said:)
Lily is still a very easy baby. Ok yes, she is very needy in that when she doesn’t feel like playing or eating then she wants you to hold her and walk around – you are not allowed to sit down or to be standing still hahah, but all the hugs and snuggles are kinda nice. She doesn’t nap much during the day but like I’ve said before, as long as she sleeps through the night then we don’t care. She is the cutest and a very happy baby. She might look a little grumpy at times but she got that from my side of the family hahah, that’s just how we look.

Lily is 12 weeks old and is getting really good at rolling over which she started doing over a month ago
Wow, it’s been awhile since my last update. Whenever I’m not feeding or playing with baby girl, I am wiping cabinets, unpacking boxes or doing laundry, I really have no time over for starting my computer.
Usually when Lily falls asleep after her last feeding around 9 or so, I still have things to deal with in the house plus I’m a bit tired and want to go to bed. But tonight I put her to bed, opened a bottle of Malbec and started my laptop. Jim is playing games or something in his office and Thor is probably sleeping next to him, so I’m spending this evening alone. The frogs outside are singing their funny songs and I love it.
I do have tons of other things to do on my computer now though so I am keeping this post short and uninteresting:) But I wanted to say hello and let you know that updates are coming. All the boxes are unpacked except the ones that can’t be at the moment like stuff that requires bookshelves or similar. We still don’t really have furniture so we will have to live with some boxes for awhile. So that means that if Lily takes a nap during the day I can maybe start my laptop:)
