Thanksgiving 2019

November 29, 2019

I hope all you Americans had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. We sure did. We made absolute no plans this year other than cook a ourselves a nice meal.
We started the day with watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on TV where  my friend Jessica (one of the dancers in Hastdans pa Hovdala) was the P in Parade in the very beginning, how fun! Before we started cooking, I was skyping with my sister for awhile. It’s getting closer and closer to her due date now, exciting! Jim prepared and started cooking the turkey around noon. This year we went with a smaller one, “only” 5 lbs haha. I made mashed potatoes, cooked some carrots and peas, prepped cranberry and biscuits, J made gravy and stuffing and we were eating around 2:30. Everything turned out absolutely amazing.
After all that food, we sat down to watch the Chicago Bears win for once, the boys took a nap and then we continued to watch football mixed with other Christmas related stuff on other channels. And we also ate pumpkin pie of course:)
Super relaxed Thanksgiving and it was perfect. That’s what this holiday is about; do nothing, be grateful for everything we’ve got and spend time with each other….and watch football haha.

J is working from home today, aka not doing a whole lot cause nothing is going on the Friday after Thanksgiving. In the afternoon we are driving over to Danielas. We haven’t seen them in awhile due to everything that has happened lately. I’m sure baby George has grown a lot since last time I saw him.

We decided to give Thor a plate this year. He is normally not allowed to eat human food because of his sensitive stomach, but on Thanksgiving and Christmas we feel that it is ok to give him some.
Turkey day is his favorite day all year:)
But look at that sad plate hahha, like mini mouse bites, but he enjoyed it

We stared eating pumpkin pie on Tuesday already. J went to pick it up then in order to avoid big crowds and to be sure he really got one this year. It’s delicious

Happy Thanksgiving

After a week of hotel beds, vacation food and drinks, constant bloating and incredibly relaxed muscles, I start to feel like myself again hahah🤸🏼‍♀️ My mind and body decided to stay on vacation mood until today which felt amazing. So now I have energy to finish this year, to finish this decade. How crazy to think we’ve lived another decade😯
The video is from 6:30am our last morning on the island. It’s also from before I realized there were a ton of bugs around me (I’ve found 48 bug bites on my legs so far…oops🙈). I just love waking up early and see the sunrise,…preferably from a warm beach🥰🌴

coffee drenched desk

November 24, 2019

Eumh…where did November go? Started this month with the best news of the this year: my hcg level hit 0, followed by the absolute worst news of the year: the loss of our sweet nephew, and then we quickly had to figure out how to get to Cleveland for funeral and still be able to go on vacation, and now it’s Thanksgiving on Thursday and already December and first of Advent next week. This month disappeared so quickly I barely blinked. Actually, this whole year disappeared in what feels like one afternoon nap.

On Friday, when I was in the middle of editing photos/videos, I accidentally spilled an entire cup of coffee all over my desk, computer, railing, wall and carpet. As quickly as I could I ran into storage room to grab a tissue box and threw tissue papers on everything wet, saved what I was in the middle of, turned the computer off and unplugged everything. Luckily there was no coffee spilled on the electric socket or the actual computer under the desk, but the surge protector and all the cords were drenched and so was everything on top of the desk. I ran to kitchen to get actual paper towels and wet wipes and cleaned everything up, turned the surge protector upside down on top of paper to dry it out and scrubbed and scrubbed to get the coffee stains to a minimal. But damn, coffee stains are ugly and hard to get rid of. Once we move out they can paint over my mess, but unfortunately we are not moving anytime soon so I have to just look at my huge clumsiness. Oh well. I have tried to google how safe it is to use the power strip after you get liquid in it, but even if some sites says it might be fine, I really don’t want to risk it. So we have to go buy a new one later today. Better safe than sorry…or dead.

Using my laptop for now, Thor is sleeping next to me on top of the kitchen counter in his little bed, so cute. He’s extra snuggly these days and wants to be close to us. He was at a new sitter when we were gone. They have a puppy and what seemed like a two year old boy, I’m curious how that went but he seems fine. They even told us the two dogs had been napping together, aww, how cute.

we are back from Aruba

We came back last night. We’ve had such an amazing and relaxing trip, Aruba treated us well🌴
I tried to update the blog while we were there but the internet wasn’t great and I didn’t get it to work enough to post here and I didn’t bring my computer this time. I guess the island wanted us to stay off our phones:) More from our trip will come.
