We are in South Carolina on a little island. It is sooo cute here. Yesterday when we arrived it was 21°c degrees here and it will be the same all day today. We will have a thunderstorm after 4pm and for the rest of the trip it looks like the temperatures will be down to like 16°c or lower, so we are gonna enjoy today as much as we possibly can.
Jim is working this morning so that’s why I’m on the laptop now. He doesn’t have to work for the full vacation, but today and Monday next week he does and then just check in every once in awhile.

Since today is the only warmer day we are going to try to do my “photoshoots” today. So I kinda have to start to get ready. I’ll update you more later tonight, ok. Have a wonderful day!

I did yoga during sunrise this morning. After two days of sitting in the car I needed to move my body
We walked over to this cute cafe to get coffee this morning

on our way for relaxing

Kauai 2018

Post written two days ago > We are on our way for adventures. When this post goes live we should be on our way from Virginia where we would have stayed one night. We decided to book a hotel only a week ago because I am after all pregnant and we are bringing Mister Buttface and the drive down south is looong.

I am so excited for this trip. Our plans are to relax, relax and more relax. We are renting a house and we are bringing tons of food so that we don’t have to go to the grocery store more than hopefully once (for fresh produce) and not go out to eat. I am also planning on taking some pregnancy pictures, hoping find a palm tree somewhere to pose with;)
Hahah, we have soooo much stuff with us, like ridiculous amount of stuff. Normally hubby and I only travel with like a backpack each as hand luggage, or if we go on a longer trip like this one we might bring one suitcase to share. But now we have one suitcase, one backpack, two boxes of food, one bag of cleaning supplies (cause you know, covid), one bag to bring to the hotel (and leave basically the rest in the car overnight), two laptops, one bag of camera gear, one bag of books,  my ginormous pregnancy pillow in it’s bag, a snack bag, one bag of workout stuff and more. You’d think we are going to camp there for a month or two hahah.

This will be Thor’s first real trip. The only trip he’s been on with us is when we went glamping for a night in Hobart NY in August 2018. That was a four hour drive of him freaking out for a big portion of the trip. The drive to Virginia is twice that long. I hope we survived (I’ll let you know in the next post hahah). But I think this will be good for him.

Ok, I’ll check in once we are at the house where we have wifi. Ciao!

Throwback to our camping trip:

Ultrasound, week 26

Yesterday I went in for an extra ultrasound. They told me on my last one that it’s because of my partial molar history, just to check that everything looks good.
The scary news that we got about baby the last time in week 19 was now all good. The choroid plexus cysts had disappeared. They usually do and it’s not uncommon for babies to get these. If there had been some other red flags before my previous ultrasound it could mean differently but all my test (including NIPT and plenty of scans) has all been great so we were not really worried. But I’m super happy now to know that the baby is healthy, her/his heartbeat was really strong and it seems to be a really active little one in there♥

It’s so sad that partners can’t come with, they are missing out:(
First thing I noticed when she put the 3D on was babys nose that took up the whole screen haha

And we are down to a two digit countdown.

Time will probably fly by from here. And we have basically nothing prepared for baby. We have a stroller, a baby bouncer and some clothes. We won’t order anything else until mid February, hopefully that isn’t going to be too late to prepare for lilliputs arrival. When should one start to get things? I always said that I don’t want to get anything until like the 8th month of pregnancy, but once we got pregnant this time I realized that’s probably not smart. You hear about premature babies all the time for example. Plus you know, pandemic doesn’t make it very easy to shop.
We have a long list of potential items to get. I’ve spent countless of hours researching baby products and watched so many youtube videos on what moms recommend for this and that. Just need to make decisions.

We have also been asked to make a baby registry and we are considering maybe to have a virtual baby shower at some point, but we don’t really have anything on the list. When we decided back in 2018 to try for a baby I imagined a more minimal approach, meaning, we don’t want things other than what’s necessary. The kid will be spoiled eventually, just look at Thor, he has so many toys he often doesn’t know what to play with haha, but I’d like to start baby life on the minimal side. Babies don’t need much.
