went to a park and did a photoshoot this morning

Hellu! Updates will come, but for now we are busy enjoying our vacation. We have a few more days left. Today is cold like all the other days but tiny bit less windy and it’s nice in the sun. Tomorrow we are driving down to Savannah and Friday it’s going to rain all day. So, today is the day to enjoy this beautiful island:)

New month, new week, still on vacation

Good Morning! How are you today? I started with 25 minutes of yoga practice and then 20 minutes of pilates. My body hasn’t done pilates in over a week and I can feel it. I could not push myself as hard as I’d like to. Belly is getting bigger by the minute too so I have to adjust a lot, which is ok, it’s a part of this journey:)
Hubby has to work this morning so I’m taking some time to sit with my computer for a little bit, eat my breakfast and just relax. It was raining from noon yesterday, no rain now but it’s quite windy and cold, so I don’t mind staying inside with the peaceful view we have:)

Oh, and speaking of nothing… yesterday I saw my very first alligators!! Wish I had my super awesome lens with me so I could take a picture where you can tell what it is you’re looking at haha.

Hard to tell here, but the three “log” looking things there by the bush is three alligator heads. There was one out swimming in the pond as well. We have gone to these parks here where we have read there is plenty of alligators but we haven’t seen any, and then we stopped to go say hi to the horses at this horse farm and we saw four alligators hanging out next to them:)

Todays morning yoga practice:

January 30, 2021

Our first day here was pretty warm, about 21°c. It did rain here and there though but was mostly nice and sunny.
I started the day with yoga around 7 am. When J and T got up, we walked to the cute coffee place near here, got some coffee and walked back. Jim had to work in the morning, thought it would be something quick but I guess they had pushed the Monday meeting to Tuesday so he ended up being on the phone for a few hours. So, to occupy myself I put on a dress that I had brought that I knew that I would be too big for later during the vacation (hahah), brought my tripod and camera out on the street here outside the house. There’s no one here really, only three bungalows including ours plus it’s a dead end street so I could really play around all I wanted out there. I think I got some pretty pictures:)
I went inside, changed and packed a few things. J was done with work and we drove to the beach. As we got out of the car it started to rain but I insisted on going out on beach anyway to take the actual maternity pictures that I had planned beforehand. They did not come out great and my hair ended up wet and looked bad. We felt done pretty quickly. Of course the sun came out when I had switched out of the clothes haha. I changed into bikini for a bit and we enjoyed the sun, walked along the beach and had a great time together there.
On our way back to the house we stopped to check out a little shopping/restaurant area and picked up some pizza to take home.

I brought a whole bag of yoga props.
Now when I’m pregnant I need to modify some asanas (poses)
Jim took this cool night picture with his phone

I took this photo of Thor last night. My beautiful boy

Hello from the bungalow! We are having a great time here! Jim is working today (again), he has some phone call now at 10:30am and it’s one of those that will probably take a few hours, so I’m entertaining myself here. Just came back from getting us coffees at the cafe a few minutes from here. So, I thought I would take today to update more here:) It’s also pretty cold outside, only 45°F outside, so staying in doesn’t sound too bad:)

So the last thing I updated about was the roadtrip down to Virginia Beach. The roadtrip continued the next day. We checked out from the hotel right before 8am. Thor freaked out for about 15 minutes, then he wanted to go down to his “house” (his carrier) and then he slept for about three hours! At that time we all had to make a quick potty break, somewhere in North Carolina. And then back on the road and T slept for another couple of hours. He must have been really tired from the day before. We stopped again to get something to eat. T went back to sleep after that until we got closer to the island. We arrived at the house in South Carolina around 3:45pm. Wow, this area is cute!
First thing, I wiped the whole house with disinfect wipes, then sprayed with disinfect room spray on all the furniture, put all extra pillows on the guest bed and put a purple sheet that I brought over the couch. Since I didn’t know how the couch would be like I figured it was smart to bring something to cover it with, and I’m glad I did. The couch looks clean-ish, but for my piece of mind (my germophobic mind) the sheet helps. I hate pillows, covers and stuff at hotels too, I think it’s nasty, so I always throw it all on the floor when we go somewhere.

After wiping and wiping the house and Jim carrying all our stuff inside from the car, I changed into different clothes and we went for a walk in the neighborhood.
Before our trip I turned to google to find articles and pictures, I search on pinterest and youtube to see how it looked like here and I found lots of crappy pictures of beaches and bushes, kinda. But the only pictures of for example palm trees I found was by the resorts here and even that didn’t look that nice, but I thought, oh well, at least the pictures of the house and the view of the water we’ll have will be nice and the reason for the trip is to relax and enjoy each others company. When we entered this island we both were kinda in shock how pretty it is here. And palm trees everywhere!! The little community that we are staying in and especially the street leading to the house is absolutely gorgeous! So peaceful and so beautiful. And the bungalow is just as nice as the pictures showed. I am so happy I randomly found this place and that hubby said ok, we could not have picked anything better. It’s private, cute, quiet, roomy, clean with a stunning view. We have even seen dolphins from looking out the windows here!

So, we went for a walk. The first person we walk by, a runner, was speaking Swedish to someone in her headphones. Of course there are Swedish people here, they are everywhere, even during a pandemic (ok, I shouldn’t say anything, I am swedish too hahah). We walked over to the little shopping area by a lighthouse. We walked around, found an ice cream shop and I got myself a mint chocolate ice cream cone (I normally don’t like ice cream that much but I have been eating a lot more of it during this pregnancy and I love mint and chocolate anything these days). We walked back to the house and just relaxed on the couch all night.

(btw, I am on purpose not telling where we are until after our trip)

Day 4 on our babymoon. I’m gonna try to catch up here, but I’m also not gonna spend my whole vacation on the laptop;)

We left right before 9am on Sunday. Thor was like I predicted freaking out in the car. After about an hour of driving (so basically just passing Manhattan and Newark airport), we stopped for a potty break. After this, Thor seemed to have understood that we were not gonna leave him somewhere, so he calmed down a bit. You could tell that he was tired but I’m sure the noise from the car and all the bumps on the road was a bit scary at first. He tried to nap but kept waking up. He had a few freak-out moments here and there but it was way waaaaayy better than I had expected! I was so proud of him!

We drove in 6 different states, 3 of which I’ve never been to before (depends on if you consider Washington DC to be in state or not, I guess). Connecticut – New York – New Jersey – Delaware – Maryland – Virginia.
We arrived around 4:30 pm. We checked in, I disinfected all the surfaces, T was freaking out, so quickly we went outside for a walk on the beach. It took about 4 seconds before someones face was covered in sand so J had to pick him up (dogs can get really sick from eating sand). It was windy and cold so we decided to find a place that we could eat at or order take out. Murphys Tavern was packed with people except in the extra outdoor tent (they had two) where there were no one, so we sat down and ordered. Just some simple bites that we could eat fairly quickly. Then back out for a cold beach walk.
Back at the hotel we watched football and fell asleep early, we had another long day ahead of us after all.
