Yesterday we went for shopping along Broadway. We are going to Sweden next week so, like always, we have a list of things to bring. It was over 35ºc (95ºF) and very very humid, so every time you walk out from an ice cold store you get hit by a wall of heat. I was extremely tired when we got home. And then, of course, in the evening while I was cooking, the AC started to leak and we had to unplug it. So guess if it has been sweaty here in the morning today (cause it’s just as warm today)? A guy came over around lunch and fixed it and cleaned our filters that was incredibly dusty. I love living in an apartment where others takes care of stuff:)
It’s hard to be outside these days. I love the heat but you get very tired from it. I try to keep playtime in the dog park to a maximum of 10 minutes including forcing T to drink from the water fountain. But I prefer this instead of the cold snowy days. I grew up in Sweden but I don’t know how many more cold winters I can take. Good thing we are going on vacation in November;)
National Relaxation Day
So, today is National Relaxation Day. I wonder how many that actually celebrates that..?
I have done 45 minutes of yoga and then been sitting on the couch with a book zipping my coffee. What a great start of the day! Very relaxing:)
My two boys are sleeping. We went to bed pretty late last night. We went to the bar inside the Trump building with J’s work, went home quick to take T out and then off to a bbq place and came home kinda late. I was tired then but my hubby had energy and was playing music, talked about the lyrics and we had a good time, so it was ok to stay up a little longer than usual.
I have a lot of energy now though after both yoga and coffee. My body was tired in every move and pose I did, but it felt good to wake up the body and it gave me a fresh start of the day.
What are you gonna do (or maybe not do) today to be relaxed?
Wonderful days
I have had some wonderful days since my last post here. I am really enjoying this lovely weather of 30 degrees and blue sky. Happy happy!
On Thursday evening we had a visit from Lilja. We have not seen each other in months and it was so nice to catch up. Thor loved having her over and apparently he understands Icelandic words:) On Friday I left T at home and took the subway out to Brooklyn. Emma, Levy and I had a picnic in Bushwick. It was a shorter visit but it’s always nice to spend time with them.
On Saturday we had a vet appointment for a yearly check up. T did very well and everything looked good. After the appointment, Jim and I brought Thor to a grass area nearby to finish some of the left over food from Thursday. That was the first time Thor really got to meet grass. Dogs are not allowed on the grass here but we thought that if we tried to keep him on the blanket they wouldn’t say anything. It was very hot outside though, so we didn’t stay long. The rest of our weekend has been pretty relaxed. We have spent a lot of time in the sun, been eating a lot of good food, enjoyed each others company and played with Thor. That’s what you do in the summer, being outside and spend time with people you like, right?:)
The Place
Yesterday we walked up to West Village. We were looking for a place with an outdoor seating to have lunch at and we found The Place. They are recommended by Zagat, Michelin and TripAdvisor, so we did not expect anything less than amazing food. I ordered the avocado toast and added bacon and Jim got the pancakes. Both were very very good. A cute place and not a crazy expensive brunch.
