Yesterday, I took Thor to 13th Street and Avenue B. Thor was behaving well on the subway, didn’t make a peep, he just sat there on my lap smiling at people. When we came to Unleashed Spa, he kinda freaked out cause he knew I was leaving him. He’s very attached to us these days. I went to The Roost next door to have coffee and read in my book while waiting. Jim showed up after an hour and soon we could go and pick Thor up. He’s soooo cute! His face always looks a bit weird, no matter if we ask for long or short or whatever, but it will soon grow out again so it does not matter much. He is super soft now!
In the evening, we of course, like everyone else, watched The Presidential Debate. No matter who of these two that will win, it will for sure be interesting to see how America will turn out. I’m not registered to vote (since I’m not a citizen yet) so I haven’t followed or read much about…well..anything. Maybe I should though. This is my home now and I care about my new country.

Mornings in BPC

On Sunday morning, Jim and I bought coffee and sat by the Wagner Park down here in Battery Park. So beautiful. I feel like I haven’t appreciated this area enough and now when we might have to leave it, I’m kinda freaking out and want to enjoy every second of it.
My husband’s friends from Minnesota was here over the weekend. I let them have their guy time together for most of it. I joined them for food but that was about it. I think it’s important that they can just hang out without their wives and do whatever stupid things they want.

laptop being cranky

For many years she had a page from a newspaper
on the wall with a photo of me doing this. This is for her.

Hi! I have been trying to get posts up here for the past two days, but my computer has been messing with me. I could be in the middle of writing something, cropping a photo or whatever and suddenly there is a blue error screen with a sad smiley face and the laptop restarted itself. Super annoying and I ended up taking breaks at the gym or cooking in the kitchen before I tried again with the same result. My husband tried to fix it last night, so hopefully it works and the laptop won’t die on me now.
How are you all doing btw? I still have a cold but I’m much better, so yesterday I could finally work out a little harder than the previous week, which was very nice. Eventually, when I have built up my muscles a bit to prevent injuries, I’m going to go back to dance classes. I never thought I would feel like this, but I’m actually nervous to go back to the dance studios. Part because my knees has been a problem in the past so that’s why I don’t want to just go right into advanced classes when my muscles aren’t feeling ready. But I’ll get there eventually 🙂
Have an awesome day!

BPC Block Party

Long and busy day today. Jim and I spent the morning at the New York Coffee Festival. Sweaty place for sure and lots of coffee, of course:) In the afternoon, after we went to get some food and to rest our legs a bit, we took Thor to the Battery Park City Block Party. We missed it last year but went the year before that and loved it. There were companies from the neighborhood offering things and a dance performance with kids in the area. Thor is kinda famous around here so we met people we know. We also found a picture of T and me from Halloween last year on one table which was fun.
We are kinda tired now after all this walking and sweaty weather. Now we are just waiting for the Emmy’s to start. Or, I am waiting for that and J is playing games on his computer:)
Hope you guys had a great weekend!

A day to myself

hummingbird-02hummingbird-01These two photos has nothing to do with today’s post, but I keep thinking about these tiny beautiful birds. I’ve never seen hummingbirds before and in Chicago I got to enjoy my morning coffee while watching them eat their breakfast. If we move to a place with a balcony, I might get a bird feeder for the summers:)

My husband brought Thor to a party outside of the city. T is very good and quiet when we are alone with him in public, but when it’s the both of us, Thor goes crazy and I get very stressed. Something to work on of course. But I had decided to skip the party and stay home with T today, but in the last minute, Jim decided to bring T along. Fine by me.
So, I suddenly got a whole day to myself. I haven’t been completely alone basically since we got T, which is fine, I love to have someone to always cuddle if I want to:) The only thing different, except that I don’t have to take T out for potty, is the feeling of not having any responsibilities for a few hours and it’s actually kinda nice. I do miss them both, but to have some real quiet time with no interruptions is awesome.
