Hi everyone! Happy New Year! I have been off blogging for a little bit. Keeping my time by the computer to a minimum during the holidays.
Anyway, I just wanted to check in and say hi. Hi! We are flying to South Carolina tomorrow. I’m excited. They have warmer weather than we do so that’s nice. We are going to check out everything we can in Charleston. I’ve heard so much good stuff about Charleston and how pretty it is so I’m really looking forward to see it for myself. I’m not bringing my laptop but I am bringing cameras so there will be pictures and maybe even a video popping up.

I know I promised you a video yesterday, sorry, it’s coming up tonight instead. Yesterday turned into a National Day due to the death of the old American President, so Jim was off work. He logged in to work anyway in the morning to just check on things, I edited the video for awhile, we went to separate gyms, I got interrupted by a phone call that I had to take, we cooked dinner and then watched the movie Outlaw King. Simple day, but it was pretty cold and we both had stuff to do. It was very nice to have Jim home an extra day in the middle of the week.

We decorated the apartment for Christmas this weekend. Everything looks nice. The stairs are really nice, very happy with that. The plan at first was to only have the garlands but then our neighbor gave us some string lights and it made it so much better, love it! I’m not as pleased with this years tree like I was last year though. I did the same thing. Don’t know if it’s the placement of the tree? If it’s the same this year but I was more excited about how awesome it looked last year so I’m not feeling the same first kind of love for it now? Or if I just didn’t get it to look as awesome as last year..? It does bother me that we have the frames in the back of the tree, it kinda takes the impression of the tree away. Plus this living room space is quiet narrow, that’s why we had a hard time placing the couch to make it look ok. It also bothers me that I can’t see Thor in his main bed when I’m in the kitchen. We placed one of his other beds by the stairs but he usually goes to his big one and the tree is hiding him. I kinda want to change everything so that the tree is where we had it last year, but the couch is heavy and it’s not easy to move things around here. So to not annoy J, I probably have to just live with this.
Now everything is up and we are ready for Christmas. I wish the maintenance guy could come sometime though and fix the damn curtain in the bedroom. He’s been doing stuff in all the apartments next to us, but he keeps walking past our door (I’ve seen him twice for two days when me and Thor come back in from a walk). I want to be home when he comes so I can be with Thor, but I’m just wasting days. Both yesterday and today I took Thor for reeeaaally long walks hoping they would come then, but nope.
Anyway. My plan is to have a Christmas decor video for you tomorrow but I haven’t started creating it yet (oops), so better get to it 😛
End of November
Wow, it’s already the last day of November. Where did this month go? I guess we have been away for two of the weekends plus another weekend of Thanksgiving and it just seemed like the time flew right by us.
Haven’t done much this week. My finger still hurts a bit and my other fingers on the same hand has like sympathy pain, hahha. So I haven’t been to the gym really. I was on the bike for a bit on Tuesday but that’s about it. It’s so cold here now so I don’t feel very motivated plus I haven’t slept very good the past few nights.
This weekend is going to be all about Christmas decoration. We are putting up our tree (not sure where yet since we have moved our couch, maybe we have to move it back), all the decor is going up and some new decor we got for this year and we are lighting the first candle for Advent. Maybe I feel ambitious and bake something too, don’t know yet.
Tonight I’m hoping to go out for dinner, maybe to our regular Friday Happy Hour bar, we’ll see. But I will for sure go and work out before that, just need to be careful with my hand. Also waiting to see if the maintenance guy will show up to fix the curtain in the bedroom.

A little reminder that meditation is not only for when we feel sad or depressed or stressed. Meditation can help clear the mind from all the unnecessary clutter clutter we don’t need, regardless how we feel. Happy, sad, stressed, in love. A break from the regular life is good for us all. And a few breaths with closed eyes can sometimes be enough.
Whiskey in a Teacup
Very soft four day weekend. Ok, well, Jim was working from home on Friday and I have been busy as well, but it’s been relaxing.
We went to play basketball together on Friday. I haven’t played since high school and of course I jammed my finger in the ball when trying to take it away from Jim dribbling. My right middle finger is swollen and blue. I’m trying to use it like I normally would to not get stiff joints but avoid lifting and other movements that hurts. I’m also taping it together with the ring finger if I know I’m going to do a lot of stuff.
Yesterday (Saturday) my cold sore looked horrible and my finger was blue and I was not at all in the mood to go out doing a bunch of stuff, so we stayed at home and got a lot of things done. Very productive week actually.
Today, we went for a walk over to Target around 9am. I finally found decent candles and a few other things. One thing was the book Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Wihterspoon. She’s such an inspiration, a real business woman and she’s just too cute. Since I got a gift card from my mother in law I thought I could buy that as a gift to myself. I have to read up on the southern lifestyle for our future move;)
