Long road ahead

I have slowly gone back to being active again.
After blood tests, chemo, surgery, more blood tests and everything else I decided to give my body a full break to see if that would change anything in my case….it didn’t. All it changed was me going up in clothing sizes and loosing all my muscles🙈
Now I’m slowly getting this weak, stiff and heavier body back to moving again after a few months of basically nothing. I can probably push myself harder but then I also know my body can get injured which isn’t worth it.
It feels like I’m learning everything from scratch again. Puh, it’s tough, but that’s ok😊

lightnings and thunder

July 18, 2019

Holy baloney, crazy weather here. Yesterday all afternoon and evening we had massive thunderstorms. At one point I was gonna pull up the curtains of the top windows and like 5 lightnings hit right outside my window and the very second after we heard (and felt) a loud thunder. I jumped back and Thor who was on the couch freaked out and wanted to come up in my arms. At night after some massive lightnings in the sky, there was mini lightnings constantly for maybe an hour, the kinds when it just doesn’t stop for even a second. The black night sky was white, I’ve never seen anything like it.
Right now it’s just massive rainfall. Puddles have turned into rivers outside.

We decided on Monday that we will go on another roadtrip this weekend. I have mentioned for a few months now that it would be cool to see Jennifer Lopez live. I’m not really a JLo fan but there are a few artist that would be fun to see because they give a show…it’s not a concert, it’s a show. But the tickets in NYC and NJ has been outrageously expansive so I kinda gave up. And then last weekend we started to look just for fun if she’s having her show somewhere else that could be cheaper. So, on Monday we booked two tickets to her show in Philadelphia. We will drive down in the morning, have the whole day there, concert at night, maybe stay for a few hours the next day or maybe drive somewhere else to explore on our way home. Fun!
Speaking of weather. It is going to be really hot in Philly this weekend. Google weather says now that it will be 36°c degrees (97°f) on Saturday and even hotter on Sunday. Have to make sure we drink lots of water this weekend!

A birthday filled with food

I had a wonderful birthday!

Jim and Thor woke up before me and on the first potty walk J took T to the next door diner and got me a coffee and waffles with berries. He wanted me to get breakfast in bed but I had already gotten up (and I don’t like food in bed anyway so I didn’t mind him setting it up on the bar). Aww so sweet. And then he left for work.

I had a long todo list on yesterday, but I had some of the cleaning left, so I spent all morning cleaning and organizing so that we can come home to a nice apartment on Saturday.

I showered, got ready and was picked up by Daniela and her mom. We drove to the shopping center area and had coffees and cookies at a cafe there. We had a nice time together, and she got me a present, the only actual gift I got this year (that’s how it is getting old, no more presents haha). Jim came to pick me up after work and we drove home. My sweet hubby got me this cute pink chocolate fudge birthday cake. I guess that’s a gift;) We shared one slice, I changed clothes and we walked downtown to Siena Restorante. I really had taste for their mushroom pasta with truffle taste. Aah, its amazing!

We were pretty full after that so we walked home and packed our bags. Now I’m in bed ready for our roadtrip tomorrow!

Adult Puppet Show

June 11, 2019

My Sunday was busy as well. Started as usual with a coffee and tuna bagel. I had been talking about vacuuming the apartment all week but didn’t feel like doing it, so eventually I finally did it once my coffee cup was empty. And then I got ready and got picked up by Daniela who dropped Gareth off to hang out with Jim and Thor. D and I drove to Wilton, CT. Her friend’s husband was in a play called Avenue Q, a puppet show for adults. It’s a musical comedy with both human actors and puppets.
Avenue Q was first performed on stage back in 2002 and has been both off- and on Broadway and has won Tony Awards. The show is about how it is to enter adulthood and have to survive on your own and that you have big dreams that might not come true. This is what they write about it:

” Its characters lament that as children, they were assured by their parents, and by children’s television programs such as PBS’s Sesame Street, that they were “special” and “could do anything”; but as adults, they have discovered to their surprise and dismay that in the real world their options are limited, and they are no more “special” than anyone else “

I thought it was a good show that brought up a lot of good points on life. Some of the performers had really good voices as well. I’m happy that I saw it.

D and I drove back to our apartment to pick up the men to go eat at some place that J had been recommended by someone. Very good southern food, we are definitely going back there.
