The Vasa Museum

On Wednesday last week, Jim and I visited The Vasa Museum. I have never been there (or maybe as a baby, but don’t remember it) so it was fun to see it. Incredible how much details they had on a ship that sank.
After that we went to the Nordic Museum that is right next door. Jim now got to see all the Swedish traditions and all the things I’m always talking about like an orange with cloves, feathers on branches and midsummer maypole.

Hi!

It’s been quite here for some days. Internet was bad at the hotel for a while and then my parents came to Stockholm and we have been busy. That’s how it is sometimes. Anyway, now I’m on the train to the west coast. Jim went back home to NY and I will spend two more weeks in Sweden.
We’ve had really nice relaxing days. During the last couple of days we didn’t do much tourism. It was just cozy to walk around or sit down with coffee and take in what was going on in Stockholm. One week of vacation was enough there. Even if it’s Sweden’s best city and my previous hometown for 6 years, I still have to say that now after a week I’m a little tired of the city and I’m ready for something else.

Slow internet

The internet is not that great at the hotel right now, so it will be less updates until it’s fixed.
Today my parents are coming to Stockholm. Wohoo! We are sitting in the hotel lobby, drinking coffee and waiting for them to show up. The sun is out today which is nice. We have already done all the tourist things, so now we will relax at nice cafes and restaurants:)

Vi myser pa hotellet framfor Nyhetsmorgon

Det ska bli annu kallare idag. Ahhh!

It will be even colder today. Ahhh! Time to dress up with a lot of clothes before we go out on adventures. We have not had any cinnamon bun yet so that I think we will try to do today:) It’s a lot of sweet things when you are in Sweden, but because we’re not here very often it’s a must of course.

EspressoHouse

Oh wow how cold it’s been in Stockholm today. We don’t really have any good jackets with us so we are freezing (right now I want my winter coat!). We walked in to the city and ate lunch at John Chris (best pasta salad with crayfish tails) on Drottninggata. After that we visited the Dance Museum shop. I wanted to find some Swedish Dance books, but the small collection had mostly american books. Bought one book at least.
We continued walking to NK (a mall) and looked at all the clothes with the American flag on (yes, in Sweden they apparently like sweaters with USA flag and Yankees hats). Sat for a while at EspressoHouse by Stureplan were Jim could check up on work. Then we found a place to eat dinner and now we are back at the hotel.
