Thor made it to Chicago. He was barking a lot in the beginning, but when we could put him and his carrier on our lap he fell asleep directly and slept until we landed.

Soon off to Chicago
Soon we will take a taxi to LaGuardia Airport. I am nervous. We have tried to keep Thor active all day and also given him a treat that should make him calm, but we will see how it goes. I hope that he will be so tired on the plane that he will sleep all the way there. A dog that is anxious and barks is something we want to avoid. The trip is not that long, I probably worry for nothing. Thor is super tired now, but we are trying to keep him awake.
I’m looking forward to a week in Chicago! Will be fun to see everybody and that Thor will get to play with other dogs.
Otrevliga Svenskar
Vart jag an gick sa pratade majoriteten svenska.
I have been away doing some errands. I kept thinking why there was so incredibly a lot of Swedish people everywhere, then then it hit me…its fall-break in Sweden now, right? Wherever I went the majority spoke Swedish.
Something else I walked around thinking is: why is Swedish people (and Japanese) so bad tourists? Just because you are in a different place than home you don’t have to push yourself forward or run like a maniac in the store or not look where you are going. Swedish people are really the worst and most unfriendly. I have seen it here in New York and also on other places I have traveled to in the world (even in Sweden). Why is Swedish people behaving like this?
(it does not apply to all of course)
I easily get irritated of those people, but…in those situations I’m thinking that its them who has a bad day and not me and my day can simply get saved by that I move and I don’t need to take it in and I can continue to be nice to others. That makes me feel good and maybe my friendly side can give the others a smile.
3 years
Planerna blev snart att jag skulle flytta till Osterrike, start over and see what happens.
Today it’s three years since I woke up in New York after a summer on Swedish ground. I came to NY on December 28, 2010 and was planning to stay for 6 months. I stood on Swedish ground July 6 and didn’t know what would happen. New plans was soon that I would move to Austria, start over and see what happens. But, something told me that I was not done with New York, so in the last minute I decided to go back here and suddenly I had both papers and a ticket ready. Everything went so fast, but I don’t regret it for a second.
