Sunrise watch in Harbor Point

Good Morning! Got up at 5:15 today. By 5:30 we left the apartment. There were no traffic at this time, but the traffic lights here in Stamford are ridiculous so it took forever to drive down to Harbor Point. We had checked the night before when the sunrise would be and it said 5:40. We should have left earlier. Because the sun is basically up at 5:40, so we kinda missed it. But it doesn’t matter, it was still beautiful. We want to drive to Cove Island another time to watch the sunrise because there the sun wouldn’t be blocked by a building and trees like it was in Harbor Point.
Thor was freaking out as always in the car and it stressed me out. It took him some time to realize we weren’t gonna leave him somewhere (which I think is why he always freaks out) and soon we could have a quiet morning and enjoy each others company.
After walking in the park for a bit, we bought coffee in a drive-thru and then hung out on the terrace. We have morning sun and before 8am it’s not too hot yet to sit out there. Very nice morning!
Now I’m dressed to go down to the gym for an hour. Have a wonderful weekend!

Alive@Five; Vertical Horizon

Every summer in Stamford they have something called Alive@Five. It’s a series of concerts on a Thursday starting at 5pm. We went to three concerts last year, Cee Lo Green, Sugar Ray and then Plain White T’s with my parents. Not very exciting bands this year, the only one I wanted to go to was the one last night with Vertical Horizon, Tonic and Gin Blossoms. Some of Vertical Horizons songs are favorites of mine so I basically went only to listen to them:) We had a good time. Left the concert a little before it was over because we wanted to go home to Thor and give him his dinner. I’m tired today, but that’s ok:)

Bike ride with Thor

After lunch today, I decided that vacuum the apartment would be boring and it would be more fun to go for a bike ride with Thor. I grabbed the bike basket and put the leash on T. He barked at first because he got excited but after that he stayed quiet until we were back in the apartment about 50 minutes later. This is unusual!

When T sits in the basket his head is in line with the baskets edge, so if there is a bump in the road I’m afraid that he would hit his head on the basket, so to protect that (and spare his little toothies) I pad it up with a blanket and his dog pouch. He loves that pouch so he feels very comfortable which of course also is important. He just sat there in the basket smiling, very relaxed and enjoyed the ride.

It was suuuuuper duper hot outside though and no wind, so we were both so sweaty after this. I had to put our air conditioner on really cold and then take a cold shower. But it was a perfect little activity for me and Thor today. And I am so proud of him for just hanging out in the basket. He barked once when we were out because he saw two big German Shepherds that he wanted to protect me from, but other than that, he was awesome! Very fun!

MONDAY MORNINGS

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

Mondays used to be my favorite day of the week. I would jump out of bed all excited to start a new week. For a couple of years now, it’s been the opposite. I would get really sad that the weekend was coming to an end. But I decided that I want that wonderful Monday feeling back that I used to have. So, for awhile now, I have been trying to shift my way of thinking around this day and it seems to be working 😀

Starting my new week with a cup of coffee (or three?), a good breakfast (today: coconut yogurt with yummy toppings) and a notebook. I take my time to write down a to-do list for the week (all the small boring tasks that I can’t escape) and then I look at my already existing list of things that I want to accomplish in my life. This gets me excited. Now I’m ready to start the week?

Are you excited about Mondays or do you dread them? Why or why not? I am actually interested to know, so go ahead and share your thoughts in the comments. Have an awesome week!!

Greenwich and hiking with Thor

We needed to get an oil change on our car, so we drove to Greenwich. They told us it would take 1-1.5 hour so we decided to go for lunch at the place we always go to when in that city, Elm Street Oyster House (took my parents there last year and my mom ate her first oyster). It’s small and cute. We always sit in the bar and usually just order oysters and old bay fries, a pretty easy lunch.

When the car was done, we drove home to grab Thor to go hiking at the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens (went there once last summer). It’s a smaller hike which is good for Thor when it’s this hot outside. It wasn’t actually that hot in the forest because of all the trees which was great.

Our plans for the evening changed due to potential Thunderstorms. We ended up going to a sushi place on Summer Street instead. We’ve been there a few times before. They have nice sushi and the place is very popular. Not much more exciting happening for the rest of the evening. Today has been pretty relaxed. Gonna go to the rooftop of our building now and play pool for a little bit and then maybe watch Breaking Bad or something before we end this weekend.
