Igar vaknade jag klarvaken vid 8am. Jag bestamde att vi skulle ha en filmdag hela dagen. Borjade med Horton hears a Who och god frukost. Sen somnade jag och sov 2 timmar, haha, sa att ga upp sa tidigt var kanske ingen bra ide. Vi tog oss ut pa en promenad, kopte med oss kaffe hem, sag nagra avsnitt av Friends. Startade filmen Grease men trottnade snart sa vi spolade fram till sista latarna och dansade i vardagsrummet (eller jag dansade och forsokte fa Jim att hanga med). Som avslut pa dagen spelade J pa datorn och jag pa playstation. Slapp forsta dag pa aret. Underbart! Det var sakert sa manga av er andra ocksa spenderade 1 Januari.

English: Yesterday I woke up wide awake at 8am. I decided that we would have a day of movies all day. Began with Horton hears a Who and good breakfast. Then I fell asleep and slept for 2 hours, haha, to get up early was maybe not a good idea. We went out for a walk, bought us coffee home, saw a few episodes of Friends. Started the movie Grease but soon go bored so we fast forward until the last songs and danced in the living room (or I danced and tried to get Jim to follow). Ending of the day was that J played on the computer and I on the playstation. Slow first day of the year. Wonderful! It was probably like many of you also spend January 1.

Wasa knackebrod med keso, kalkon och gurka. Bast av allt: varm o’boy!! / Wasa hardbread with cottage cheese, turkey and cucumber. Best of all: hot o’boy (=hot cocoa)!!

Till mitt kaffe blev det seaweed snack och oliver med vitlok. Konstig kombination, men gott! / With my coffee I had seaweed snack and olives with garlic. Weird combination, but tasty!

Hej nya aret! Hur firade ni nyarsafton? Middag hemma med nara och kara, eller gick ni ut?
Vi hade en mycket trevlig nyarsafton. Gick till Adrienne’s pizza pa Stone St och at oliver och en pepperoni pizza. Vi var dar tidigt sa inte sa mycket folk. Mycket mysigt. Vi gick sedan vidare till en av de andra barerna pa samma gata och vi satt dar i baren i flera timmar. Lugnt i borjan och senare mot 12-slaget kom det lite fler personer. I baren bjod de pa ett glas Champagne och hade nedrakningen fran Times Square pa tv’n.
Sa, vi hade en lugn, trevlig och inte sa jattespeciell nyarsafton vilket passade oss perfekt. Viktigast var ju anda att fira med den jag alskar och vill borja det nya aret tillsammans med!

English: Hello the new year! How did you celebrate New Year’s Eve? Dinner at home with people you love, or did you go out?
We had a very nice New Year’s Eve. Went to Adrienne’s pizza on Stone St and ate olives and pepperoni pizza. We were there earlier so not so much people. Very cozy. We then moved on to one of the other bars on the same street and we sat in the bar for several hours. Quiet in the beginning and later closer to midnight came a bit more people. At the bar they gave us a glass of champagne and had countdown from Times Square on the tv.
So, we had a quiet, nice and not a super special New Year’s Eve, which suited us perfectly. Most important was to celebrate with the one I love that I want to start the new year together with!

Det ar arets sista dag. 2013 gar mot sitt slut och imorgon borjar ett nytt spannande ar. Har ni nagra nyarsloften? Brukar ni ha det? Jag har faktiskt aldrig nagra. Det enda jag onskar varje nyar ar att nasta ar ska bli lika bra eller battre.
For manga betyder ett nytt ar en ny borjan, men jag ser det bara som en ny dag. Vad kan man forandra pa en nyarsafton? Man kan onska en massa saker, men det borde man gora hela tiden tycker jag. Att tanka “Nasta ar ska jag X och Y och jag hoppas pa Z”, varfor inte satta igang direkt? Varfor vanta? Men jag antar att varfor manga har nyarsloften ar for att det anda ar nagot speciellt med att ga in i ett nytt ar. Man blir motiverad pa ett annat satt. Man tror lite pa en “reinkarnation” av sitt eget liv. Om det funkar for dig, then, go for it!
For ett ar sedan hade jag en sa otroligt stark magkansla att 2013 skulle bli det absolut basta aret i mitt liv. Jag hade ratt. Vad kan toppa att bli friad till och gift med mannen i mina drommar? Men, jag kanner pa mig att 2014 kommer bli ett kanonar det med, eller vad sager ni?

English: It’s this year’s last day. 2013 is going to an end and tomorrow starts a new exciting year. Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? Do you usually have any? I actually never have any. My only wish is the next year will be as good or better.
For many a new year means a new beginning, but I just see it as a new day. What can you change on a New Year’s Eve? You can wish a lot of things, but that you should do all the time I think. To think “Next year I will X and Y and I hope on Z”, why not just start directly? Why wait? But I guess why many have New Year resolutions is because it actually is something special about going into a new year. You become motivated in a different way. You believe a little on a “reincarnation” of you own life. If it works for you, then, go for it!
One year ago I had a such incredibly strong hunch that 2013 would be the absolute best of all years in my life. I was right. What can top a proposal and get married to the man of my dreams? But, I have a feeling that 2014 will be a great year too, or what do you say?

Igar var vi pa en Bears bar, Overlook, i Midtown. Fullt med Bears fans och vi som hade tankt ata fick vanda och ga och ata nagon annan stans och sedan komma tillbaka lagom till att matchen borjat.
Igar var en viktig match, skulle de komma med i playoffs eller inte? Well, aven om de gjorde flera touchdowns och det sag lovande ut ett tag sa forlorade de mot slutet. Jaja, jag hade iaf kul! Forstod ju inte allt, men kul att vara omkring fler som Jim:)

English: Yesterday we were on a Bears bar, Overlook, in midtown. Full of Bears fans and we that had intended to eat had to go and eat someone else and then come back just in time for the game begun.
Yesterday was an important game, would they get to the playoffs or not? Well, even if they did some touchdowns and it looked promising for a while they lost towards the end. Oh well, I had fun anyway! Didn’t understand everything, but fun to be around more people like Jim:)
