On Thursday had the vet we go to an Open House. Everybody knows Thor and he liked it there (he likes it because he always gets a lot of treats there). He got to play model, eat treats, (eat hay), meet other dogs and play with all the doctors. I got to fill in tickets and put in boxes. I didn’t read on the boxes, just put them down and apparently I won some insurance. Thank you.
We got a little goodie-bag that Thor of course got to eat yesterday on Halloween when we ate our food.

Well, har gar man ju all in under sjalva dagen.

I wrote that I haven’t noticed so much of Halloween. Well, here you go all in during the actual day. Whole Battery Park was dressed up. Last year I worked in Rhode Island at Naval War College, so I didn’t get to experience how they do trick or treat here. But of course, all the kids were in costumes and went from house to house, door to door and got lots of candy. The parents had a list with everybody who signed up and took the kids around. I think that very fun that it happens also here in NYC. Our neighbor had of course a lot of candy and we had kids that ran outside our door for several hours. Thor probably wanted to say hi to them all, haha.
Yesterday, Emma and Cristian came home to us for a cozy halloween night. Food, talk and lots of play with Thor. Nice with a calmer evening with close friends.

halloween

Borjar kl. 7pm ikvall.

Today is All Saints Day and the American Halloween. I have actually not noticed it so much this year. I have met some kids in costumes on their way to school, but not much more than that. Maybe there is more in perhaps Midtown?
I have noticed on facebook ad instagram the past week that Swedish friends are posting pictures of pumpkins and different halloween costumes. Has that become a real thing there now? When I grew up you knew what Halloween was, but you never celebrated it. I read an article last week that an american man, Bill Schakt, that now lives in Sweden, now has put together a Halloween parade in Stockholm, Shockholm. Also, there will be a whole festival around this. Hahah, in Sweden you take everything one step further. Same with like Pride…why has Sweden whole weekends and NY only one day? Fun for the Swedish people that there is stuff going on. Apparently will Globen turn into a monster pumpkin, I would love to see that!
If you live in New York and you want to see or participate in the parade, you can find more info HERE. It starts at 7pm tonight. I have been there once, it is total chaos and you have to hold tight to the one you going there with, but it an incredible experience actually. Music, dancers, artists, giant puppets and everyone in fantastic costumes.
