Woke up at 6:30 am today, had my morning coffee on the beach. Oh, I wish I could have my coffee on the beach every morning!
Our vacation on Grand Cayman is absolutely amazing. Both my husband and I love to explore and go on adventures when we go to new places, so we are actually kinda busy. I have a lot of pictures to share, of course, and I will update as soon as I have chosen which ones I want to post here.

Yesterday we each got one bike from the hotel and went for an adventure to the northern part of the island, West Bay. After only few minutes into our ride the rain poured down us. We found cover under a garage and waited 5 minutes for the rain to stop, and then off again. It was kinda nice to be a little wet because it only got hotter and hotter outside. We made some short stops and then we finally came to the end of the 7 mile beach.
With snorkels ready we went down to the Turtle Reef. This was my second time ever to snorkel (first time was in Mexico 2014). So wonderful! Amazing experience. I didn’t go out too far though, because I wanted to just get a feeling of how it is. After snorkeling, we stayed at their restaurant and had lunch before we took our bikes to go back again.
It was a bit scary to ride the bike at first, but once you get a feel about how the traffic is, it was just fine. With over 32 degrees, it was absolutely perfect to be on a bike to get some wind on our bodies.
We came back to the hotel and went straight into the ocean for more snorkeling. There is a lot of man made reefs there. If we wouldn’t have been snorkeling there, I’m sure we would have bumped right into them.
Yesterday was an amazing day! We are not the kind of people who only stays by the pool, we like to explore, and yesterday was a perfect day with adventures, amazing weather and fun fish to look at.

Waking up in Grand Cayman

We’re on Grand Cayman. Wonderful weather! Wonderful beach! Wonderful ocean! Wonderful palm trees! Everything is just wonderful! Yesterday after we had got settled in at the hotel and had some food, we went straight in to the ocean. The water was almost body temperature and it was so nice to swim around. I have never seen this clear water and it’s beautifully blue.
I sat on our balcony for a little bit now this morning. Then I decided to go in and grab my camera and computer. It didn’t even take 5 seconds and both were moist. I wanted to take a picture of my beautiful morning view but the lens kept getting fuzzy from this humid weather. I succeeded to take the picture above only because I used a towel to wipe it right before I snapped, hahaha. So, I went inside to blog instead. But now I’m gonna get ready because I don’t want to waste a single minute on this island.

Empire State Building

I wanted to find new swimwear for our vacation, a more sporty kind since we probably will go on a lot of adventures and stuff. So I went up to Macy’s yesterday because I thought if any place in the city would have swimwear in November it would be Macy’s, because they have everything. Turns out that they stopped selling swimwear two months ago. Oh well. At least now I know that:)
I usually try to avoid going to the Macy’s area or Times Square because I don’t want to deal with confused tourists or people asking me if I want comedy tickets, but sometimes it’s kinda nice. You can see The Empire State Building from basically every street in the city, but it’s actually a different feeling to walk right next to it. This is the building that you think of when you think of New York. I see the Freedom Tower every day, it’s outside my window, but that stands for the new NYC and it also reminds us of what once happened. The Empire State Building is the highlight of the skyline and it’s in all these movies we watch. It’s hard not to love this building.

Trees in Battery Park

It will take me some time to get used to this time-change. The sunset came so early today and I was a bit confused. It was pitch black outside our window at 5:30 pm and I almost thought that I had to go to bed soon, haha.
But oh, so beautiful it is outside these days. I took Thor for a long walk to enjoy the sunset and the 22 degrees that we had today (yes, in NOVEMBER!). All these colorful trees in New York gives me the feeling that I’m walking into a painting. At one point there were hundreds of leaves that came down from the trees at the same time and it really felt magical.
