It was snowing nonstop all day yesterday. We had basketball tickets but the game was cancelled and they banned the traffic in the city and closed bridges from 2:30 pm. We stayed at home all day and watched families play in the snow outside our window. When we where outside, Thor tried to run around but it was hard since he kept disappearing in the snow. But the storm wasn’t that bad actually. The news made it sound a lot worse than it is. They write that it is 63 cm snow in Central Park. No idea if that’s true, but down here in Battery Park it’s not that much.
Today has been sunny with blue sky and not very cold, which of course means slushy streets. It’s very nice to walk outside on days like this though because it’s very quiet and I have awesome rain boots. Not much people and no cars. I’m tired of the snow already though, I want it to be gone by tomorrow. Big wish, hahah.

Stor onskan, hahah.

They have been warning New York all week about the Snowstorm Jonas that was gonna hit the east coast this weekend. Well, yup, we woke up with like 4 inches of snow outside and it is still snowing. We took Thor out for a walk and was really dead outside. Before anybody has touched the snow and messed it up, this is the only time I think that snow is pretty. Now was also a good time to go out since they haven’t put salt on the streets yet, so Thor had a lot of fun trying to run in the snow. It came down sideways so it was kinda hard to see where to walk (and to take pictures), but still kinda fun to be outside running in the snow before others are.

Right before Christmas, I finally got to see The Bulls play at United Center in Chicago. What a difference to go see them at home. The entertainment in between was far more interesting than at any basketball game I’ve ever been to in New York. Sure, Bulls kinda sucked and they ended up loosing to the Nets, but still, everything else was very amusing. I had such a great time and our seats were awesome. The stadium was full and everybody seem to have fun. When we go to a Knicks game in NY, most of the people coming are tourists that has no clue of what they are actually watching, they just want to see basketball and The Knicks on their vacation in New York. So it was really cool to go to a game where people really wants to see their team play and have fun with other fans.

Pups ‘N Coffee and Dino bbq

Right after lunchtime yesterday, we took Thor for a longer walk to South Seaport where Pups ‘N Coffee organized a fundraising event for all the pups and humans at The Salty Paw. Everybody loved Thor. He was a little nervous and excited at the same time barking at everything as always but people still loved him. Of course we also had him do a lot of his tricks and people seemed very impressed. Apparently it was an event for the Human Society of New York (HSNY). Not the most organized event but I later saw on Instagram that they are happy with the outcome, so that’s good.
We walked home, left Thor (who probably passed out immediately), and we went to Brooklyn to have an early dinner at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. The service was slow but the ribs were amazing! We were rolling out of the restaurant and decided to make a quick stop at Ikea (since we were in the neighborhood). Bought some Swedish candy of course and candles before we took the boat back to Wall Street. Finished our day with the movie “The Hateful Eight”.
Today I woke up worse than earlier this week. I’m tired of being sick now. It’s been a whole week. I’m just gonna rest today and wish for a better tomorrow. J is off work tomorrow so we have another day to do fun stuff this weekend, just not today.

Davids Tea

Last week we got a very nice surprise in the mail from father in law that couldn’t have come in a better time. Tea! Perfect now when I’m sick. And what’s better than tea when you’re sick? Well, tea with awesome taste. We have now tried the green tea “hard candy” and black tea “pom tango”. Tastes like dessert. Yum!
Today both Thor and I are feeling pretty crappy. He has himself to blame though, cause he has been eating stuff outside, while I am just mushy pushy from the winter cold. We have been relaxing on the couch all morning. It’s kinda nice to be sick sometimes. Sip tea and watch tv while snuggling a pup, not that bad:)
