My wonderful mom is 50 today. Hurrah hurrah!  I wish I could be with her today to celebrate. Birthdays are special and 50 is a big deal, I think, so I hope she’s enjoying her vacation and is having fun on her special day.
Today I’m also starting the countdown to my own birthday. 100 days til I’m 30. If there is anything I should do before the big 3, then I better hurry, I only have one hundred days. I feel stressed about that, but then I think of all the things that I have actually done and then it’t not that bad:)

Min underbara mamma ar 50 idag. Hurra hurra!

Central Park Tree

I saw a tree in Central Park yesterday that inspired me. Trees that just branch out everywhere and spread wide are not only beautiful, to me they say something too. They don’t care, they just spread their branches all directions. I love that. There is a huge and really old tree in Lisbon (my friend actually made an amazing choreography inspired by it) that I sometimes think of. We walked by it every day on our way to school. It is such a wide tree that they had to build steel railings to hold it up. That tree just went for whatever it wanted and along the way the humans helped it to keep growing. Amazing.

Monday morning! It’s raining outside but since it’s warmer it’s kinda nice. None of us knew that it was daylight saving time this weekend and I woke up very confused yesterday, and today I’m very tired and Thor was even more confused today when the alarm went off.
On Saturday we took the subway out to Williamsburg to go to the Brooklyn Brewery. The line was waaayyy too long so we walked around the corner to go play bowling instead, but there was a few hours of waiting. Popular day to be in Williamsburg I guess. But we spent a few hours in the area anyway eating hot dogs and sitting in bars. On Sunday, my sister and I walked to soho for some shopping and then we met up with Jim and Thor who sat at an outdoor seating, and then we walked home. That is a very long walk for such small pup, I am very proud of T to walk that much.
These days when my sister is here just goes by, I don’t even remember what we are doing. All I remember from last week is that it was extremely nice weather and we were sweating wearing only t-shirts outside 🙂

Lovely first weekend of March

On Sunday we decided to have brunch in Brooklyn Heights and then walk along the water with lower Manhattan as our view. So nice weather so it was really perfect to spend time in a park. When we came home, I took T out for a long walk along the Hudson River. In the evening Denice, Jeanette and I went to see the kids movie Zootopia. What a great movie! Such inspiration for kids.
It’s gonna be 22ºc today and probably even warmer tomorrow! Wohoo!! So my guess is that we will spend our days outside from now on 🙂

Last week we had very mixed weather so some of the days we were a lot more busy than others. On Tuesday the first day of March, we had Korean bbq at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong and after a really good dinner we continued on to see The Knicks at Madison Sq Garden. Denice caught a t-shirt at the game (with one hand standing on one foot and won over two other guys who tried to take it, hehe). We had a fun night. This was the first time D ate Korean food and her first time at a basketball game so it was fun that J could get us all tickets through work. There was plenty of famous people there then too. Michael J Fox, Michael Rapaport, John Turturro, K. Michelle and Nicky Jam
Jim and I went to Webster Hall on Friday and saw three bands. PWR, some other really bad band and then Ra Ra Riot, who we have seen twice before. I had such great time there. That place is huge so after the concert ended we went downstairs and had an entire dance floor to ourselves and below that was another stage with some old band playing.
