Airport yoga room

Never seen a yoga room at an airport before (seen in Chicago)

We came back to New York City late last night. When I finally was in bed, I listened to all the noise outside. There was some loud constant kinda squeaking sound far away mixed with loud chirping birds. Sounded like I was in a big industrial area and in the middle of the forest at the same time. Very strange and very different from hanging out in the suburbs of Chicago for a week.

This morning after my husband went to work, I was reading stuff on my tablet for a while and when I decided that it was time to get up Thor came and snuggled really close to me. So we stayed in bed a little longer just hugging each other. Those are the most important moments of my day. I just wish my husband had been there too. Thor is pretty tired today after being drugged yesterday before our flight, and I’m pretty tired too, so I have absolutely no plans for the day. Right now I’m just looking for inspiration on pinterest. That website is addictive!

Kalle Ankas Jul

Thirty people has just arrived at Jims mom’s house for Christmas Eve celebration. For 30 years, I’ve watched Kalle Ankas Jul (which is a Disney thing that’s been on swedish tv for 58 years = Donald Ducks Christmas) at 3pm on Christmas Eve. I just can’t miss it, so right now I’m hanging out in our room while everybody else is downstairs catching up. Maybe rude, but I have never missed it. Swedish television doesn’t send it for me in a different country so I have to search for every little show (it’s like 10-12 different small shows) on YouTube. It’s a tradition I love and being so far away from my family in Sweden it’s kinda nice to at least feel like a Swedish person on this day, even if it’s just for an hour.

Right now it smells extremely terrible here. Apparently they burnt the food downstairs and the whole house is smoky. I’m afraid of fires so I of course got very worried, but its nothing serious, I can just keep watching my Disney 🙂

I started my first blog 10 years ago

gse_multipart3965I somehow remembered my old blog name and the address to it, the one I had until I started this one (which at first was located at a blog site before I bought my own domain). My very first blog post was on Christmas Eve 2006. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years of online writing already! Or, actually, I wrote online before that. Back then, a Swedish site that was just like Facebook (before FB existed) had something called “Diary” where I wrote from time to time. But my first own page was a blogspot blog.

Ten years of blogging. I started it as a fun thing to do and an escape from all dance and work. Having a blog was also a simple way to share my everyday life with friends and family when living in a different city or living abroad. 234958_edited

Some of the things and the blog-“language” I had then was actually pretty funny. After reading this I feel like I want to hang out with this 20 year old Fanny:) I wrote about everything. Good and bad. I can really feel and remember everything from back then. The struggles of being a student at Balettakademien five days a week and work every day after school and extremely long shifts on weekends and still not being able to pay for food. I wrote about how much I love dance and about the preparations for all the auditions. I was happy to have new friends and sad to be single after four years of having a boyfriend. My body was tired but my brain was creative. This was a really tough, but fun, time for me. I learned a lot!! And I wonder how I found time to write blog posts, haha.

But, I think the big blog celebration will be when it’s been 10 years since my first post on this blog. June 3, 2017 is the date to remember.

December 13th, Lucia

dec13_lucia-2016Today is Lucia. I have no Christmas feeling. Not even a little. We only have a small tree and just a few Santa figures out, but nothing major. No decorations in the tree either, because we bought one that has shifting lights all over it. We kinda decided not to decorate much this year. We are celebrating Christmas in Chicago anyway.

On Saturday we left Thor with his favorite babysitter and then took the subway up to Grand Central. We bought coffee and went to the train. Then we spent the whole day in Connecticut. It was nice to just hang out with my husband and not worry about Thor. Normally if we go somewhere I constantly think about that we have to be home before he “pees his pants”. But with a babysitter, I can relax:)

Disney World, Hollywood Studios

Our second park to visit at Disney World was Hollywood Studios. Not as much Disney feel to it like Magic Kingdom, of course, but we had a lot of fun! Movies are always fun:) I had completely forgot that Disney bought Star Wars so I was a bit shocked at first of how much there were in the park with this. Everybody seemed super excited about Star Wars, but I was more excited about the movie ride with things from good movies.

Tony and Jaimie had to leave after half the day, but J and I stayed longer to explore more. For ex. we went back to the Rock & Roller coaster and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror a second ride. One thing that I would have loved to explore was the Walt Disney One Man’s Dream, which I think is more of a museum of the Disney’s history. But when we walked by it in the park, I had forgot the name of it and didn’t realize that’s what we walked by. A little bummed but whatever. Everything else was awesome.
