Bl.a sa hade de fatt in kaffe med lakritssmak.

Last time I was in Sweden (in August) I went together with Carlye and David to Stockholm for 1,5 days. Of course, I spent some time at Lakritsroten (heaven on earth within licorice) and bought a lot of nice things. Among others, they had just got a coffee with liquorice flavor. When I was there, the barista that had sold this coffee to the shop was there too. Turned out that he was working at the company that I worked for before I moved to New York.
The coffee has been standing in the cabinet since then. As the barista I am, I don’t like when ground coffee is standing for too long. It loses flavor and of course it isn’t as fresh.
Now, I took the coffee out and I’m having it with my breakfast. Just like the barista I spoke to in the store said, licorice flavor comes as an after-taste. It smells like licorice in our whole apartment now and unfortunately I must say that the smell is nicer than the taste. Maybe it’s because the coffee has been standing for so long and then lost it’s taste, I don’t know. A little disappointed, but it’s perfectly ok coffee anyway.
Those of you who have followed my site a longer time may know that I’m both a coffee- and licoricelover. I like good quality. It was really interesting to study to become a barista. Even if it was a short course before my future job, it gave me incredibly much. It would have been fun to go a licorice-course too 🙂
